The Perpetual Horse Racing Quiz.
First topic message reminder :
Ok, here's my idea for a quiz.
I'd planned on posting about 12 questions, and getting you to pm me the answers.
But I've had what I think is a better idea
I thought we could have an on going quiz, it will go like this.....someone posts a question ( it can be about anything related to racing).
The person who answers correctly gets to ask the next question......if you are certain you have the correct answer then go ahead and ask a question......if your not sure just wait until someone confirms it.
In that way the thread can run for as long as people are interested in it.
I'm rather pleased with that idea
Of course, it could all go horribly wrong...........but we'll give it a go.
Here's the first question:
In the 1998 Cheltenham Gold Cup, See More Business was carried out by Cyborgo (Paul Nicholls was not a happy bunny!).
Can you name the other horse that was carried out in that incident?
I'm off now .....I've had a busy day......night night,
Solerina.

Re: The Perpetual Horse Racing Quiz.
Sol, have been looking thru my programmes from my visits to York's Ebor meeting, in 2003 Aiden saddled the first two home in The Great Voltigeur - the winner was Powerscourt at 5/1, second was BRIAN BORU at 8's.
I always mark up my racecards when I go to a meeting, her indoors has threatened to skip them on many occasions.
I ain't sure but I think Brian Boru was indeed an Irish king, who was around about the time the Vikings were wreaking havoc in our neck of the woods.
Might be miles out mate but its all I can come up with

Sol, the Brave was and still is my favourite horse, every time i watch a rerun of the 86 Derby i still find it hard to believe how much Greville gave the horse to do. His performance in the Arc with a proper jockey on top was simply sensational.

Yes Swansea......I've been reading about how the loss on Dancing Brave in the '86 Derby, seemed to overshadow Greville Starkey's otherwise great career. He lost the ride shortly after that.......interesting stuff.

Theatrical,Manila and Estrapade.Breeders Cup Turf 1986.Remeber watching it and thinking how DB just looked like the "shell" of the horse that had won the Arc.It was the original "bridge too far" and he should never have been committed to run in that years renewal,he'd been on the go since the April of that year and it was a flat end to a glorious career.

Ok so racingnut hasn't verified my answer yet but I'm sure it's correct and as I'm away shortly, till tomorrow evening, I'll post my next question.
What was the name of the first winner trained by Martin Pipe?
If you want to be extra clever you can tell me who rode it
