Can We Keep Hold Of Our Boys - Dragons
Right then fellow Dragons, (those who know the Club and Finances better than me) 5 of our boys went to the WC and 3 of them ( Lydiate, Charteris and Faletau) will come home with their reputations not only intacked but significantly increased .
So not knowing the ins n outs of the Region can we keep them?

Re: Can We Keep Hold Of Our Boys - Dragons
I've already heard from Rob Beale in an interview that they've had enquiries about Faletau, Lydiate and Charteris. It will be hugely difficult to hold onto them. I can see Lyds and Falaetau staying for a few more seasons as they're still young and have plenty of time to chase the big deals. Charters is 28 so may think that it's now or never if a once in a lifetime offer came in.
Charters is the player I've been most impressed/surprised about out of Wales' WC squad. He has never been that dominant, never ruled the skies, never topped the tackle counts at club level. However, this Poland camp seems to have done wonders for him and a number of players.
So, to answer your question Bedford: unfortunately for us I think we're probably bottom of the pile in terms of attractiveness for players to sign/re-sign, even if that is a bit hard to admit some times. We've not really got great facilities even though they've built some news seats, not very nice weather, not a great town to live in, and the biggest thing that could outweigh those things is money and we haven't got much of that. Any big money offers from teams that can offer a better lifestyle are bound to tempt them.
The one saving grace is Gatland's policy of picking from Welsh regions first and foremost. I'm not sure the other regions could offer that much more money than us, maybe a bit, but the big money deals would be overseas and that would affect their international ambitions. It could be the thing that pursuades them to stay, at least for the time being.

Well Toby was already offered more money from the ospreys andkydaite from a big English club before the wc so the offers will really be flying in now. Other teams will see then as easy targets as our wages just don't matching top teams.
That said I think all will stay as they are happyat the dragons, have all made the welsh team and will still be offered good contracts. We are building and if we can sign a few better players next season(like promised) and we are getting a new gym then why would they leve. Charteris has had offers in the past when we've been in worse positions so I can't see why he would leve now.
When everyones fit I don't think there's anything between the welsh sides. We just have a poor squad.
