Burns vs Katsidis

First topic message reminder :

On paper a exciting fight, which i see Burns winning about 116-112 on scorecards.
However burns is a 5/4 underdog in this fight, Is there something that am missing?
Katsidis is a tough fighter with good power but is a contender level fighter where as Burns in my opinion is World Class.

I dont see katsidis as being the bigger man although Burns is coming up he was a Vey big Super Featherweight fighter. Is there a reason why Katsidis is the favourite that am not seeing and who do you guys see winning this?

Yeah Katsidis looked poor. But he was still a threat, Burns fought a decent fight. He won, what more do you need to ask for?

Yes Guerrero smashed him to bits with his jab but he was on the back foot for most of the fight.

First fight at lightweight against a guy "ON PAPER" should have beat him. He won and that's all he needed to do.

Beaten by a guy who worked for 45 seconds a round at the most..and basically stood there and let the guy hit him whilst covering up for the rest of the time..

and everybody is supposed to be impressed!!!....

Burns is a far superior boxer to Mitchell though

mitchell has a good defense if you reckon he doesnt them youre thinking of the wrong mitchell. good head movement can slip punches well leans correctly and has good reflexes. he didnt exchange with prescott and outboxed him really well.

for some reason against kats he decided to try and trade and the first time he did it went badly and got hurt and the rest is history mitchell is a very good boxers.

Burns on points, not just from this fight, been thinking this before (leading upto martinez fight)

Like I have recently stated for me it is a bit of a pick 'em fight, Burns probably has better basics and clearly can grit his teeth in, however for me Mitchell has just that little bit extra about him, slightly more rounded skill but perhaps doesn't have as great basic fundamentals.... Pick 'em fight for me.

You don't want to try and be slipping punches against Katsisdis with your hands down, Mitchell doesn't use his gloves to defend himself, if he had tried to use they tactics all night Katsidis would have rushed him like he Burns. He would have to trade or defend himself eventually.

Truss just doesnt like Burns. Think he had a few sneaky quid on Kats if im honest

But not Katsidis, Mitchell has a far better chance against Burns i agree but think he loses by close UD.

Do we think Burns looks stronger at Lightweight? Although he has only had one test his left hook to the body made Katsidis wince in pain everytime it landed.

I thought there was a punch in the 3rd or 4th when they were tied up, Burns may have been holding the back of his head with the left and hit him with a right uppercut, Katsidis started moving backwards for the first time in the fight, thought Burns gained a bit respect there. He's benefiting at Lightweight but still not a huge puncher.
