We need a fitness directive from the WRU at all clubs in Wales.
Since the start of the Gatland regime he has made comments about the lack of fitness standards that he expects in the players available to him. He, his coaches and previous wasps players as pundits that worked with Gatland and. Edwards all stated during the RWC at different points the emphasis Gatland has on the benefits of high levels of personal fitness.
And I guess we can say point proved mr Gatland, Wales won plenty of matches by being superior in the last quarter during the world cup and in the warm ups.
So what I would like to see is an official WRU directive on fitness across the board at all clubs and regions in Wales.
It can only benefit our game. Even at the amateur levels.
The benefits would be to reduce injuries, increase the abilities of players and stiffen the competition between those in contention for places.
What do you think?
