The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the life size photo of Thierry Dusautoir.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Marnin'.
Day off for me today, but first thing I'm having my root canal filling replaced at the toof doctors.
Rest of the day...wait for my mouth to stop feeling like rubber and do some chores before settling down in front of the box for Scrum V.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have 4 days on a tutors course next week. I'm not actually going to be training. New detectives will do their course to learn their skills (7 weeks) and then come out into the real world as 'learners', in the same way I did, just now the first year of them being 'learner detecives' will be more structured and they will have four, three month attachements with different departments in the investigation field, and when they come to our department I will be expected to act as a tutor/mentor for them and then have to sign them off at the end of it to say they are competent, or extend their learner period with an action plan if they are not.
It benefits me and my team to be honest as every time I am tutoring one of them it will mean we have an extra person on our team to get the work done.
cari, I hate getting dentist work done so you have my sympathy, hopefully the Ospreys can give you something to smile about this weekend. (And I dont mean them delivering a certain Mr Bowe to your house wrapped in, well, a bow!!!)

Mick, Retirement? Mon brave, I don't believe that you even know the meaning of the word? Getting you to slow down and take it easy is an impossible task!! Best to you (and massive cuddles for the adorable chien)
Pete, that's good news, anything to ease your workload a wee bit - also sounds like an endorsement from high command

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Good luck with the new post Pete. I guess a hands-on approach is probably the best way to learn to be a detective. Or you could just watch The Sweeney...
No dental work can be as bad as when I had my front teeth capped (I had them knocked out) so a filling isn't scary anymore, just inconvenient really. My dentist is cool too - a little Polish woman called Liliana.
The O's are away to Glasgae tonight, so I'm hoping it's a good game for them and if they can maintain their unbeaten streak in the Rabo, all the better. T's playing too, so it'll be nice to see him again

Cheers guys, it is always nice to be asked to do something that recognises the skills that you have worked hard to hone, so am pretty happy with how things are going workwise at the moment.
Are tonights Rabo games on the tellybox, as I have cancelled ESPN as they are robbing barstewards so I can't watch the Jeff offerings this evening!!!

If you want to see an exhibition of what the Dutch call “Shekshy Rugby” then I’d recommend watching Leinster Pete.
Man, I can’t wait to get this week finished. I’ve about 20 people on my case today because they all decided that the products we’ve been making for the last 4 weeks have spelling mistakes all over them! I can’t speak/read polish/Italian/Serbian so I certainly can’t PROOF read them!

It's only been a week or so hasn't it, Hughie? It can take weeks and weeks sometimes.
Why do people talk rubbish? Here's Simon Halliday:
"The grassroots clubs are furious at what the shop window is doing."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/15485337.stm
Surely shop windows don't do much apart from being transparent and keeping the cold out? Leave the shop window alone!

Hi all
Hughie keep the faith.
Brginning to think Im not as hard core as I once was. Very hungover today after only 6 drinks yesteday. Really peed off a English team I reffed yesterday with two red and yellow card. Dreadfully illdisciplined.

Not knowing one way or the other is a bit of a pisser Hughie, that's true.
Two sendings off, Stag? Was it just the one team that was indisciplined or were they both at it?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
One team got two reds and a yellow. The other team got a yellow.
Home team got a yellow for a horribly late tackle early on. Within 5 minutes the English team responded witha disgusting spear challenge and said how you effing like that. He got a red.
The away team then were convinced I was biased and questioned every call I made. I yellow carded their captain for constant backchat in 2nd half and late in game carded #8 for the same. He refusrd to leave so he got a red.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
You'd expect rugby players to know that you can't go around questioning the referee like that, the captain especially. Grumble amongst yourselves all you like, but this isn't football.
Then again, you did say they were English...

Cracking tune Hughie. Plenty of slidey bits but it’s definitely one for muscle memory, a bit of practice and you’ll be nailing it.
Need to find the following items for my doctor who costume.
A tweed jacket – found one, need to fine one in my size
A sonic screwdriver – sourced, boxed off
A shirt – will have a look, probably have something that will do the job already
A burgundy bowtie – shouldn’t be TOO hard to find
A pair of red braces – no idea where to look for that, would M&S have that type of thing?
