First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the life size photo of Thierry Dusautoir.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

So. We are looking for a very tidy roofer with a strong interest in local architecture.

And a devious mind. I reckon one of the two break-ins was to throw the scent off what he was actually after. Say he wanted some info off one file in one office. If he steals that file, all the clues are there. If however he steals five files each from two offices there are significant permutations.

Bore da pawb / good morning all.

I failed my driving test for the second time on Friday afternoon, so afterwards I did what any sensible person would do: I went to a pub quiz and got smashed. I woke up Saturday morning with a hangover and a stinking cold. It was a wonderful weekend.

EDIT: Calan Gaeaf / Hallowe'en! ghost tomato (pretend that's an apple for apple bobbing.)

Lucky - Sorry to hear about the driving test. Are you going to go for Third Time Lucky? Smile

The filling I had done Friday has decided to be sore and sensitive this morning. Oucho.

I've just had a look and the next available test is in December, Cari, so I'll try again later, hopefully I can get an earlier slot. I just want to get it done now, I know I can drive, I just need to show it over forty minutes.

I don't know what to recommend for sore teeth. Iced water wouldn't be a good idea...

That's frustrating when you know you can do it.

The pain'll wear off, I think it's just sensitive because it's a new filling.

Just checked my SG picks for the weekend. Mixed bag. Can't believe Dreamer is getting so many picks correct in the footy. Amazing mad
Interestingly more Ulster fans (self included) went for a Scarlets win than for an Ulster win. I didn't expect a win so I am not terribly disapppointed. A losing bonus point was welcome. McLaughlin/Humphries have two weeks to get it sorted or the season will be over before Christmas.

Glas, I haven't been on the bus tour but I know it takes in areas of West Belfast where the republicans and loyalists have their strongholds. In those areas there isn't much else to talk about unfortunately. A walking tour of the City Centre would have been better for them, although there isn't a lot to see there either. Belfast isn't a very old City in terms of history.

Rav, What has happened to them? A fairly promising start, and then furious ? All teams go thru bad patches, but I really believed that Ulster would kick on this year from an excellent season last year? Hug

As, its difficult to put a finger on what is happening. Coaches have to accept responsibility for the way we are playing but players are making so many basic errors and giving away stupid penalties that keep the team under pressure. They haven't become poor players overnight and I expect (or is that hope Rolling Eyes ) them to play their way out of it soon. Problem is they have lost a lot of ground already in the Rabo on the top 4 and in the HC, well that was always going to be difficult with Leicester and ASM in the group.

Morning pub.

There’s a good article by Brian Moore in today’s Telegraph about coaches blaming referees for their teams’ defeats. I have to agree with him; there was a LOT of whinging at the weekend.

Chef Sad . Question is would you have made the trip?

Cari, Penfro is thinking of coming over in the new year for a game. Ospreys was under consideration.

"Ospreys - weekend of 24th Feb ???? England v Wales same weekend ? I'd only be watching it on the TV, not dragging my ar$e up to HQ (sic) This could be a runner, depends if you boys are heading down for Ireland V Italy on the Sunday"

Give it a bit of thought.

Yeah Cari, I agree. I like the way he points out the errors the players make which cost their teams points, but which are not mentioned by the head coaches.

We're quite a circumspect lot at Wasps, and you won't find many of us criticising referees. Some stuff goes for you and some against. And the referee is usually much closer to what is going on than we are.

Geech made the only positive comment about TV replays being made available at all prem. games. One of the 2 incidents he referred to was when Bath were not awarded a good try at our place because the ref didn't see the ball grounded before it was lost.

We commisserated with the Bath fans, but that's all you can do as a fan.

Rava - Yeah I'm really disappointed in my Pro12 form this year. I was in the top 15 for most of last year, but am only about 30th at the moment, dreadful Sad

Ulster are a funny one this year, you aren't doing a lot wrong but for some reason things just aren't clicking. Not sure why not. Hopefully for you it's just a bad patch. Scarlets went through one not long back where we were on a 4 match losing streak, but thankfully the LV has helped us turn that around.

Cari - excellent news!

Cari - not sure yet, got no plans set out just yet anyway. Guess will have to start looking at train times etc.

Nerves are building for that one. It would be amazing if the Scarlets could win, it would be exactly what we need going into our HEC game against Castres but I'm just not sure how it'll go. Depends on how our forwards decide to play I guess!
