Max Evans the...Brawler?

Just saw this article and wondered if any one knew any more on it?

Seems like he's being accused of bottling some one in a bar:

"The 28-year-old former Glasgow Warriors star is accused of assaulting Alasdair McCaig at Edinburgh's Lulu nightclub on August 1 last year. At Edinburgh Sheriff Court, he continued his plea of not guilty to the charge that he struck McCaig on the face with a glass to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment."

I also didn't realise he now played for Castres.

That's kind of all we know at the moment, yappy - the case has been postponed on a couple of occasions, but I believe its due to go to trial soon

Now that the World Cup is over (and the little scamp has abandoned Glasgow to play in France), the Scottish court system can resume dispensing justice.

In any case, quite a few of the Scotland players are into bottling......

It sure is taking a long time to come to trial...I thought that was sorted out ages ago.

The Ferris trial must be due soon too.

Just be carefull what gets said here, other forums have had threads closed down for blurring the line between accused of and guilty.

I met him on a night out in Edinburgh and he chatted to me and my mates about Rugby for a good 5 minutes. Seemed genuinly nice and took time to speak to some rather drunk fans (us) who were no doubt embarrassing him.

Yes that does carry a custodial sentence, but everyone is innocent until proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt in court.

Im not saying he did it,just saying if he was found guilty it would carry a prison sentence so it would effect his career.

Yes. The guy who tried to hit Neil Lennon at Tynecastle was found not proven of assault, aggravated by religious prejudice.

He couldn't have done it.

Max is too tiny to reach any 6 footer bloke's face with a bottle.
