Is John Terry..Capello's biggest crime!!
I'm not from this Country so I'm looking at it neutrally.......
No time for Capello....Number one crime he has failed to learn the language and for someone earning millions that is in itself disrespectful.....He underperformed at the World cup which is less so but still a crime (Form is temporary I guess)....He begged players to come out of retirement which is a big crime in itself as a Country should always bigger than that...(players should drop dead for the chance to play..not the Country's Manager going cap in hand etc)
However the biggest crime is giiving the Captaincy to a guy...who slept with a team-mates Wife...allegedly showed people around his club for money....Caused trouble round town with the unforgetable line ("I could buy you")...A guy who is completely disrespectful to the whole of football..(referees..other players)...forget this new alleged racist thing!!!!
Capello knew all this and yet gave him the Captaincy back..he knew his character!!!
This Capello doesn't respect your Country but for me.. forget the results...
John Terry is his biggest crime...
Wouldn't happen in America....Captains are role models....This guy you clean off your shoes when you've been out walking!!!

I completely 100% agree Capello is a fool and the sooner the end of Euro 2012 the better.
However the biggest crime is giiving the Captaincy to a guy...who slept with a team-mates Wife
This is also alleged but was never proven and both sides deny it. Plus she was Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend, not current wife at the time of so called affair.
Caused trouble round town with the unforgetable line
Yeah he did go around with Wisey and Woodgate in his early career but he hasn't been mentioned as a thug like Gerrard(Captain material???), Rooney, Carroll, Barton, Bellamy, etc.
Wouldn't happen in America....Captains are role models....This guy you clean off your shoes when you've been out walking!!!
Yes it would. It's just not as showcased in the American press like the intrusive idiots we have in the UK.

Change the channel Truss. Must you preach about the flag and sing The Star-Spangled Banner on every thread?

Terry also sold his free tickets for an England game, this was brushed under the carpet though as he quickly paid the money back when he was caught, though this alone shows just what he's really like, zero respect for the game, the authorities, his country and he values money above everything else, in short, he's an odious c***.

Couldn't agree more.
If he didn't want his England tickets i'm sure there are plenty of people/charities he could've given them away to. But he obviously needed that extra few hundred pounds far too much.

Terry could sleep with Fabio's wife and it still wouldn't be a horrific as his decison to pick Emile Heskey for the World Cup.
Can I ask if Kobe Bryant is captain of whatever team he plays for? If not, does that mean it's more acceptable that he allegedly sexually assaulted a "dancer"? Captain or not, famous or not, English/American or not, surely that behaviour can never be tolerated in any civilised society...even one as backward and hypocritical as America

Funny that you think the UK is a backward country since the USA is leading the way with it's big arss for the world to see.
I remember one of the top Gridiron players was done for illegal dog fighting?? I think he was captain of his team.
Strange world we live in given USA's stance on tolerance

Danny Balboa that is the million pound question. Of course in Fabio Capello's case it's the £6 million pound a year question.
Why not Joe Hart as England captain?
What I think you need in any sport to be captain:
Nailed on as first choice in your position.
No controversy
Good leadership.

Re: Is John Terry..Capello's biggest crime!!
I think the role of the captain is over-rated anyway. Any idiot can call heads or tails.
I couldn't care less who is captain, vice captain, club captain, fine distributor or head of the quiz team to be honest.
Yes every team needs leader(s) but putting an armband around their arm shouldn't make them any more of a leader or respect figurehead within a team structure.
The last decent England team had David Seaman, Paul Ince, Tony Adams, Alan Shearer, Gareth Southgate, Teddy Sherringham, Gary Neville, Stuart Pearce and David Platt. Professional athletes that led by example.
Perhaps that's what Capello needs...just good pro's?

Freekshow a captain isn't meant to just call heads or tails.
He should be a role model. He should be inspirational and lift his team.
Being a captain means you have certain responsibilities.
Joe Hart is the only possible candidate IMO in the England team.

It shouldn't be the responsibility of one man alone to lift his team when the chips are down. What happens if he gets injured? Are we left to watch the blind leading the blind?
Too much emphasis is made on the role of the captain. Who cares who wears the armband? It's a title and nothing else. Every player on the park should lead by his actions and by that I mean the way he plays on the pitch.
Of course players should behave off the pitch but the reality is alot of them don't and its become a common trend in this country. It is what it is I'm afraid.
I'd doubt that certain players within the England set up look upon John Terry as a role model anyway and it would be naive to think that fans do either.
But if the captaincy does bare any relevance I wouldn't be sure it's a wise move to lumber it on a goalkeeper who is still relatively new to the first team. I stated in another thread that Joe Hart, at this moment, is our most important player simply because we are thin on any back up in that department but making him skipper won't add anything to the team whatsoever.
If John Terry is found guilty of these racist slurs then I'd banish him from the squad completely. Whether he is the England captain makes the charge no worse than it already is.
Of course it's all about opinion and I respect yours but I just don't buy into all this captaincy importance and role model poppycock!

Freekshow I agree but there are fundamental issues in regards to the attitude and culture of English football.
Englsih football needs to take a leaf from the germans and the way they conduct themselves in international competitions. They are professional, efficient and generally successful.
Terry should be punished harshly if found guilty. A precedence must be set. Harsher bans to instil more discipline. More respect for refs and the international scene.

Agree with all of beshocked. There are probably a dozen or more countries we could look at as the benchmark but sadly we probably won't!
