First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly retired Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas.

Also a special picture of Thomas Domingo and wishing him all the best on a speedy recovery.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

The Ospreys fans are pants. Penfro and Cari you are fab, but get them to some choir practices or something! Oo-speys, Oo-speys...ole, ole, ole, ole, Pon..Oo-speys. Come on! The massively outnumbered Scarlet fans put you to shame. Dax bands, stereophonics playing in breaks of play, a decent sized crowd but no atmosphere, no culture, no class.

Prynhawn da pawb / good afternoon all, another beautiful day here. Sunny, cold and dry, you can't beat it.

I had a missed call this morning from a number I didn't recognise, so I texted back to ask who it was; this is the reply I got (but with the actual swear word):

who am i the f___ing captain

I still don't know who it's from.

Morning all,

Lucky,

Was it you who was getting texts before about a Uni Rugby team? Could it be about that? Would it be worth texting back that there has been a mix up?

Hi Mrs P, no, that wasn't me but I remember hearing about it here. I replied to the 'captain' text and said I was sorry but I didn't know who he was - I haven't had a reply since. How's the weather in Norn Iron?

Well...yes and no.

We really did our best to butcher as many chances to score tries as it was possible in 80mins. There must have been 5 clear scoring situations which ended in a knock on.

I suppose we were creating more than in previous weeks but we really need to be taking those chances. I can't see either ASM or Tigers allowing us to waste so many chances and still win.

Hopefully Fez is as okay as he looked at the end of the match. Court took a knock too.

Really need the big lads next week.

I'll tell you what's not very funny, Taunton RFC has been cordoned off as a crime scene by the Police following the M5 pile up. Reports are that a fireworks display caused a bank of smoke across the motorway.

I am. As a member of the front row union I am considering petitioning for a revocation of Ross' membership. Let him join the butcher's union. What was he thinking? Leamy should have been carded for killing the ball 3 meters out in the aftermath, but that doesn't exhonerate Ross.

Good question MrsP.

Swine of a HC pool Ulster have. In fact, The Rugby Paper doesn't even think Ulster are involved. They have Pool 4 listed thus:-

Aironi
Clermont
Auvergne
Leicester

Could well be prophetic unless we start to get our act together.

When the draw was made Brian McLaughlin said our group was...exciting!

Not sure that is necessarily the first word that springs to mind just now!

If Ulster can get their act together it could be a Pool decided by bonus points. No one relishes a trip to Ravenhill. I can see the packs having more of a say in this Pool and Ulster will need to front up against Clermont and Leicester, who are both strong in that area.

Although my lot are not involved, I will be watching as many games as possible.

That face wasn't at the thought of you becoming Ulster's newest and most unlikely supporter, it was because my puter did some weird sticky thing and then posted my comment twice.

I understand about the Williams tackle now, I had thought you were watching the replay of the O's match.

I get the feeling from the Tigers fans forum that some of their fans are struggling to come to terms with being in 10th place at the moment and teams not just rolling over and being smashed by them...

http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/read/s103.htm?106,12821770

for my part, I am thoroughly enjoying winding one of them up. Does that make me a bad person???
