The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly retired Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas.
Also a special picture of Thomas Domingo and wishing him all the best on a speedy recovery.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Apparently London Irish are the most cynical team to ever have played at Welford Road and are a disgrace to rugby.

Just saw the highlights of said game. Cracking contest. Staunton and Flood must be kicking themselves.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have to say that the City Ground semi final was the first match where I had witnessed opponents' fans gloating. It was a very close match and they had nothing to gloat about. And it wasn't even nice gloating if such a thing is possible.
I had to laugh earlier. One FB friend posted: "why don't people realise it's not the 5th November any more! Our dog is petrified". Seconds later another friend who lives on the same road: "right, that's the men fed, time to set off our fireworks. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!"

ASBO Stag
I don't expect it though and I have made a rod for my own back. It's nice to see but I shouldn't bother if I were you. The die is cast and all that.
Anyhow, I fear exploitative industries nay be seen as a necessary evil in austerity Britain.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
At the time I was annoyed that it was given Stag, but that was in the heat of the game. Having watched again it looks as if our guy knees it out of Croft's hands but it goes backwards meaning there is no knock on, so it was a fair try.
More annoyed about the penalty try to be honest. Tigers were pushing before the ball came in and were a good 2-3 foot over the centre line that Pearson marked for the front rows before the ball ever arrived, so as far as I was concerned it should have been a free kick to us.
I know that it happens a lot and is rarely given, but to then concede penalty try as a result of it not being given is a little annoying.

Morning
Feel like death warmed up today. Am going to the doctors this morning which is very unlike me, but my chest feels like it is about to cave in at any minute.
Just layed on the sofa at the moment watching the Currie Cup final from a week or so ago.

Morning Pub. please.
Cold but extremely sunny here this morning. Hope everyone is well. Lucky
I'm not sure what to make of Ulster's newest supporter? It's Glas and we all know what a WUM he is so until I see the colour of his eyes on a wet and windy Friday night at Ravenhill I'll reserve judgement.

The controversy on the Aguila try seemed to be that he involved the TMO to comment on an issue in which he has no jurisdiction by the letter of the regulations? The shoving before the ball goes into the scrum really gets on my goat too, PeteOzzy3213 wrote:At the time I was annoyed that it was given Stag, but that was in the heat of the game. Didn't see the try your referring to Pete but I agree with Asbo it gets on my nerves too.
Asbo - the referee simply asked whether there was any reason he couldn't award the try. If he knocked on in the act of scoring a try he can comment on it.

Morning As
The scrum is a real issue at the moment, it is a complete lottery in most games that I have watched recently which is very frustrating. Pearson seemed to referee it by reputation on Saturday, and by that I mean that as Tigers have a reputation of being a good scrummaging side, if he wasn't sure he gave them the decision. There was on scrum where Ayerza had his hand on the ground and Ion was pinged for not binding despite being bound.
I though Pearson was quite poor overall. He really didn't seem to communicate with either set of players, which I think is a key thing for a referee really.

Agree thats a reason why there were 28 penalty kicks in Leinster v Munster. A ref should be constantly talking.

I'm working till 2 on Saturday. Will hopefully make it into Belfast rather sharpish.
Ema's where epic apparently. A few mates and myself went around Belfast on Saturday night trying to do a bit of celeb spotting. Closest we came was 3 blacked out range rovers. No idea who was inside they didn't stop when we jumped up and down and waved though.

It was probably Rava in the range rover
Myself and the GF are heading down. Not sure if we're going to get a hotel and stay over or just head home.
Anyone recommend a pub to catch the Munster game after? Was thinking of trying that place StandUlsterman works in? Maybe somewhere that serves food?

My how times have changed. When I was 21 if I had jumped up and down and waved at blacked out range rovers I would have ended up being Flip into the back of one of them

I have strong opinions and a humerous manner. Does that make me a WUM? I'll be clear though, Ulster are my second team, I am still a Scarlet first and foremost.
I can't find an Ulster official app for the iBone, is there one? My plans for a Ravenhill visit in early December have just been scuppered by the news that the outlaws have booked a last minute holiday.
