Ospreys v Scarlets - Bonfire Night, (Saturday 05/11/11) BOOM!
First topic message reminder :
Liberty Stadium, Swansea. Kick off 6.30 pm. Live on S4C from 6:10pm. Match coverage repeated from 9:00am on S4C Sunday 06/11/11.
Roll up! Roll up! It's the West Wales derby Part One - can the Scarlets beat the Ospreys for the first time at the Liberty since 2007 or will the Ospreys determination to make up for the loss they incurred last week in the Rabo spoil the Scarlets party? Their previous meetings have looked like this:
27/12/10 Ospreys 60 - 17 Scarlets
02/10/10 Scarlets 18 - 21 Ospreys
02/04/10 Ospreys 27 - 19 Scarlets
It should be a very exciting encounter, and I can't wait to be there Let the banter begin!

I'm sure your excitement is infectious. I haven't been able to persuade Mrs G that our fifth wedding anniversary should be spent at the Liberty though.

Not trying hard enough Glas! Tell her you're both going out for a meal - a hog roast, but it's a surprise. Then just get to the Liberty!

That may have worked, but just realised I'm duty Solicitor in Llanelli tomorrow, no chance of a swap this late. I'll be in the dog house and it wont be because I went to see the rugby! Guaranteed I get a call out during the match now and all just to put a tin hat on it!

Yep. Hopefully unlike the "Fever in the Aviva...er" there will be two sides trying to play a bit of rugby, weather permitting.

God I'm dreading car parking for this one.
My brother in law doesnt finish work till 4:30, and we wont leave till 5:00!
Kick off is at 18:30 so I have no idea where I'm going to park my car!

I normally park in the park and ride, but ideally you'd need to be there at 16:30 to get a space, my brother in law wont be leaving work until 16:30, and were driving from Porthcawl so you can imagine the problem we are going to have!
Worse case scenario is I will hyave to drop the lads out and drive round trying to find a space until the game finishes :'(

Ospreys taking the Munster approach - Scarlets scrum is dominant and their backs are better, but the Ospreys are contesting every breakdown - most illegally.

Sounds like there are more Scarlets than Ospreys in the crowd.
Still 0 - 0 at 21 mins (not a bad game though)
1 missed penalty a piece, Jones missed an easy one.

Scarlets pressing on the Ospreys line, Morgan almost breaks through.
Tipuric playing the ball on the floor - YELLOW CARD.
Ospreys look poor at the moment.
Dan Evans to take the penalty.

Awful decision for the Tipuric yellow. Said he was off his feet, but replays suggest he was on them. Bizarre!

To be fair, the Ospreys should have been pinged a few times at the breakdown.

Stephen Jones back on. Ospreys penalty in the 22 - Easy 3pts turned down by Fotuali'i, almost works - But Ian Evans isnt the best at running the touchline.

Ospreys dominating the scrum
Ball knocked on by Fotuali'i at the base (awful...just awful) now its a Scarlets scrum, could easily have been 5/7pts for the Ospreys though.

Scarlets earn the penalty (ospreys holding on in the ruck) and can clear their lines - Opportunity wasted by the Ospreys.

Fotuali'i falls over.
Dan Biggar attempts DG - Charged down by Matthew Rees who runs half the pitch to chip it on before Biggar gets back - Unfortunetly its too far infront of L.Williams and goes into touch.
HALFTIME
Ospreys 3 - 0 Scarlets

As much as I hate to say it Stephen should have seen red for that tackle.
Ospreys fans give your SH a break he's only been here a short while. He'll take a bit to get bed in. He was pure quality at the RWC
