Each Way Doubles
I've been reading a bit about Each Way Doubles, but have'nt ever used them.
Is anyone used to short odds Each Way Doubles?
what would the min odds be to be included in a profitable bet? have read as low as 3/1 and 9/4, and two horses placed at only 2/1 result in a small lose.
Just from experience what is the lowest you'd do?
just looking for link if anyone has the tables and the maths.
and if anyone has any stories to to with them, they would like to share?

Re: Each Way Doubles
Seeing as most races are 1/5 the odds a place then if both were placed at 2/1 a £1 ew double would return £1.96 and if both were 9/4 it would return £2.10
To work out the place part of an each way double first convert both prices into decimal odds by dividing the first number by the second number and then by 5 (or 4 if it's 1/4 odds a place) and add on 1. Once you have the two totals multiply them together and that will give you the place return to a £1 stake.
eg if the odds were 6/4 and 7/2 it would be
6 divided by 4 divided by 5 plus 1 = 1.30
7 divided by 2 divided by 5 plus 1 = 1.70
1.70 x 1.30 = 2.21

Re: Each Way Doubles
was thinking about it
if 2/1 going onto a 2/1 (both place) produce a small lose, (2p to the £1)
then anything over those odds is worth including.
or even going as low as 2/1 on one and anything above 2/1 on the other.
Very low odds to start with, much lower than I would ever have though for E/W betting.
Think I'll be on the look out for these in future.
