Pier Olivier Cote
Wow, what a fight tonight with Teron, stopped him in two with a great KO, but was rocked in the first after throwing great punches. Sensational win for Cote, great performance.

He looks about 10 years old. Commentary team more or less admitted that he'll probably get the Bute treatment since he's so popular so I wouldn't expect to see him in with any of the big names at LWW anytime soon...great KO though.

It was Lillis who suggested this but he's probably right, Cote has power in both hands, but he'll also need some defense and patience when he steps up or he won't last long.

Re: Pier Olivier Cote
I think he will become another lemiux tbh, he got badly hurt by teron in the 1st. Has fantastic power but that can only take you so far. He actually broke someone's jaw with the first punch he threw in one of his fights... scary...

Re: Pier Olivier Cote
I actually think a little too much is being read into that wobble...he was throwing leather and was slightly off balance on his back foot. He took the punch,, stayed up and continued throwing. Didnt look in too much trouble.
He has quick hands & actually wastes very little. But above all, as has been mentioned, his power is just pure frightning. You can hear the thud of each punch..including his straight and jab. The guys nose exploded on that 2nd knockdown. And the broken jaw in one of his previous fights shows his power. P4P he has to be one of the deadliest punchers out there.
Whether he is a star or not will depend on how he is promoted and whether he comes out of Canada. As we have seen with Bute he may be top of the rankings but to 'casual' boxing fan he is not known & will never be a superstar until he leaves his back yard.
Never the less I will be watching this guy closely in the future!

Re: Pier Olivier Cote
ive seen him before and he actually has good skills and can box behind a jab. he was on the undercard of butes fight against mendy.
but also as has been mentioned this boy can punch, actually felt a bit sorry for teron the one two that put him down clearly broke his nose and maybe could have been stopped there but my goodness the next big shot had him out before he hit the canvas.
very exciting would like to see mccloskey get splatted by this guy.

Doubt McCloskey would go for it, i don't think he would last 30 seconds.

Re: Pier Olivier Cote
Yeah same to be honest, though he took Prescotts punches ok who is a fair hitter... But to be honest this guy is more dynamic faster moves around can counter punch, he's good but a bit hittable I think, last time out I saw him he was slightly predictable and boxed off of the jab, when he should have pressed a little more, won comfortably but not a great performance... This time he just went straight out and did what he does best knocked the other guy out, and fast. He's only been pro for 3 years.

Really impressed with his fighting style and he was exciting to watch. Going to have to download a few of his fights to see what I've been missing.
