Xmas
As Xmas approaches I try to drop hints of Golf related items that I would like and although it tends to fall on deaf ears and I end up with something I didn't really want. I have just started dropping a few hints but don't really expect them to materialize.
As I have got older my timing is not what it was and having noticed this "geeswing" mentioned on a couple of websites I have dropped the appropriate hint and shall wait and see.

Will any of you be dropping a few hints and if so for what?

Re: Xmas
Have to say I loathe Christmas time as its the lowest point in the golfing calander, long nights and rubbish weather. Things start picking up in the new year when you notice the light creeping back in though.

Does this mean that Alan Hansen has now lost his amateur status?

Re: Xmas
Christmas is a double edged sword for me, my hints always get picked up on advantage of best mate owning golf store, the Mrs just goes in and he has what I want ready and she pays for it! The problem is her family members assuming I'm some sort of person that likes the obligatory crap golf presents that are sold this time of year!
However to indulge the OP I'll be expcecting some of the following :-
Couple Galvin Green compression tops
A new Pencil bag
And a new Carry bag as mine fell apart today!
What I'll likely get from the outlaws-
Crap novelty headcover
Golf socks!!! Because obviously golfers don't wear normal socks!
Sdme form of totally unbranded golf balls
The obligatory putting cup (likely to be 5th straight year I get one)

Re: Xmas
It happens every year Mav doesn't it?
If no-one gives you any unbranded balls, I have 6 unused St Andrews ball lookee likee in an eggbox that I would gladly donate to the Mav Truss fund.
If I am unlucky enough to be given ANY sort of novelty headcover, it will be on flea bay before boxing day.
If anyone wants to buy me a Garmin S1 approach watch however, then a friend for life they will be - dubious honour I know!

Its as though everyone in the MRs family has Xmas amnesia, same crap every year, yet every year the Mrs says don't buy it... What is with the pointless blalls they always have the St Andrews logon on them to don't they. The head covers are all gathering dust in the packaging they come in, in hope one of her family takes up the game and i can then annoy them by giving them back as presents

Do I take it from your answer that you don't want my St Andrews balls - I'm even willing to throw in a pair of socks that humorously say on the side - Who's the Caddie - oh how we laughed at that.

Re: Xmas
A few year ago after the presents were handed out the wife told me she wanted to get me a different present but had problems. When I enquired she said she wanted to buy me a new driver.
She called the local driving range / golf shop. "The guy was so unhelpfull. He kept asking me all these questions. I kept saying to him "All I want is to buy my husband a new driver. Why are you making it so difficult for me"

Won't be any golfing presents this year, as I've given the game up.
