Ian John Lewis...............
Seriously, WTF was he watching?
He's the boxing worlds equivilant of Blakey from On The Buses.
The board need to have a serious look at his scoring record lately.

Was there a fight on tonight or is that a general comment?

The bloke needs to be relieved of his judging duties because that was a disgrace to score that a draw, and he already has past form for producing strange scorecards.

It annoys me the way he says watch the heads, don't know if he still says it not seen him in a while. Looks like he was watching a different fight.

Wasn't Mike Perez supposed to be fighting on the undercard of this? Anyone know how he got on?

Terrrible judging again from IJL!! It makes me so angry! His last 6 months have been terrible. He even give a fighter (can't remember his name) in prizefighter 30/30 for a fight when he got knocked down!
Joe Ainsworth possibly or something similar.
Decent ref but awful Judge.

Atrocious judging!! It's bordering on criminal. I could watch that fight a hundred times from every seat in the house and not see what he has seen.

Perez beat Zack Page on points over 8 rounds.
He should have taken the Fury fight after Prizefighter if he wanted to kick on, he seems to have stalled badly.

Page seemed like quite a durable guy when I saw him (get robbed) against Dallas.
I was impressed by Perez after prizefighter, but as you say he seems to have slipped off the radar a little bit now.

After Prizefighter would've loved to have seen Perez in with Fury - would've made (and would still make) for an interesting match up and one I couldn't pick a winner from (although basing that entirely on Perez's PF performance as haven't seen anything else of him).
Hopefully he can push forward and get some bigger fights so we can see how good he is...

I think Perez has missed the boat to be honest, Fury wanted the fight for the Irish heavyweight title after Chisora, but Perez didn't fancy it and Tyson has now gone up a level, I expect him to be chasing Dimitrenko for the Euro belt after the weekend.

Re: Ian John Lewis...............
Don't know if this is the case with Perez but there are rumours with a lot of the Cubans that their commitment is not great, the freedoms they enjoy in the west are all a bit alien to them and they tend to go a bit over the top and fill their boots. Have certainly read the same with Luis Garcia who is based out of Ireland who looked absolute quality when he first went pro but has gone a little quiet since.

He is only 26 so could still get himself into contention for a fight with Fury later on...

I've never rated Ian John-Lewis, always found him to be quite dour, and resentful at being in Greavesie's shadow all the time.

Did think the word quality had become a bit unusable on here, but really couldn't be bothered to think of anything different. Maintain he is quality though

But the board need to have a serious look at his scoring, before the cards were read out , I said to my mate "I bet IJL has this in favour of Purdy"
Wasn't that wide of the mark.

Sorry for resurrecting a zombie thread but I am absolutely, utterly, incandescent with anger after this malteaser headed muppet has once again ruined what was shaping up to be a decent fight, I cycled 15 miles to a mates to watch this and I'm bloody furious, so feck knows how Enzo and his camp must feel, I know he has been investigated before by the BBBoC, but surely this has to be the final straw, they guy is an incompetent egomaniacal idiot who shouldn't be allowed to referee two 7 year olds having a playground scrap let alone a professional title fight, he should be sacked at the earliest opportunity.
The man is a compete and utter moron.

Was it Ian John Lewis who stopped the Paul McCloskey-Corley fight a bit early? (not that we care about McCloskey the way we do about Enzo though, right?)

No complaints about the Mcloskey stoppage, he had been taking punches flush from round 1, he also get rocked badly.
The Enzo one was a complete joke!

The guy has no kids just dogs........
So when he makes a cockup he can't see it from the other side....and how it hurts...what he is harming....... because he lacks a paternal instinct..
Never trust a guy who isn't good enough to have kids..

Well, I'm 20, don't intend on having kids anytime soon. Watch Jeremy Kyle, they all have about 15 kids, none appear to be fair minded, however.

Not arguing that parents have more of a paternal instinct, I am saying it doesn't matter in boxing.
Don't quote American studies - after your laughable election pagent nobody is going to take you or an American study seriously.
America - the greatest county - greatest military . . . BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Did another American study tell you that?
It's always fun with you on the board, Truss

what are you crazy? i think perez is the best heavy we've got at the minute, and its criminal that he has been so inactive. hes managed to land a fight on the same night fury fights, only he is facing ruslan chagaev- a win over him and i think fury will be forced to fight him in his next fight, he based in ireland so it would sell, and we all no how he's been struggling.
fully expect perez to beat chageav and fury in next 2 fights and then the worlds his oyster. i also think he'd beat vitali.

Re: Ian John Lewis...............
I can't and won't defend the stopage that IJL did. Just a point to make to truss, IJL does have a daughter. I know IJL, I saw him today. He told me when I asked him abou the stoppage that on the first right hand he saw enzo's eyes roll and then the other punches go in. That's why he stopped it. As soon as he did he said he realised enzo was alright. I hadn't seen the fight before talking to him but ultimately if he saw that then it's always better to stop early rather than late. Sometimes it's a good call sometimes not
