WWE Raw Tour In Nottingham Last Night Empty WWE Raw Tour In Nottingham Last Night

Post by Shot 21 LCFC Thu 10 Nov 2011, 10:04 am

I want to the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham to watch the Raw house show last night and it was amazing. I went last year but was on the very back row. This time I was in the 3rd row at ringside!! It is brilliant to watch live, and being that close I could see and hear everything!!! And after the matches were over, as well as when wrestlers were making their way down to the ring we were allowed to stand at the barricade. I was literally centimetres away from the stars of Raw!!!

The first match was Santino Marrella v Drew McIntyre. Unfortunately Santino won but it was an ok match.

Then we had a random tag team match of David Otunga and Micheal McGillicutty (I thought they had split up!) vs Alex Riley and Primo. Riley and Primo won but the highlight for me was when McGillicutty looked me right in the eye.

After that it was Mason Ryan v Curt Hawkins which was pretty much a squash match with Ryan dominating.

The US title was then defended between Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison. Ziggler cut a great promo before hand and got the whole crowd going. It makes me think that he wont be needing Vicky Guerrero much longer. Once again he looked me right in the eyes! The match was pretty good as well to be fair. Obviously Ziggler won, but Morrison did well, even kicking out of the Zig Zag. After the match, Ziggler went to hit Morrison with the belt, but Morrison reversed it and hit the Starship Pain. I then got to slap hands with Morrison!

The Bella Twins then came out to organise some sort of dance competition. They were wearing really short skirts. If you think these women look beatiful on TV, thats nothing compared to how they look in real life!!

After the intermission it was Beth Phoenix defending the Divas title against Eve Torres. Once again seeing these georgeous women that close is amazing. Especially when Eve did her booty popping thing - my jaw hit the floor. Phoenix won and then started to attack Eve until Kelly Kelly came out to the rescue. Eve and Kelly than hugged and I started to woner if I was in heaven. Eve Torres then came around the barricade and I got to touch her hand. I will never wash again...

After this was a 6 man tag team which I never though I would see in a million years. First out came The Miz and R Truth to the usual You Suck rap. They spent about 20 mins on the mic really getting the crowd going. They really are amazing on the mic. Then they announced that they had a partner with them. A partner who was 7 feet tall. Believe it or not it was Kevin Nash. This was the biggest mark out moment for me. As a kid watching Diesel I couldnt believe I was seeing the guy literally metres away from me!! They faced the team of Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder and John Cena. Nash was in the match quite a bit and did fairly well considering everyone is guessing he will be terrible in the ring. In the end Cena, Kingston and Ryder won after Cena delivered the Attitude Adjustment to Miz.

Finally the main event was Alberto Del Rio defending the WWE title against CM Punk. Ricardo Rodriguez came out to announce Del Rio as usual. Once again I made blatant eye contact with the WWE Champion. Then out came CM Punk top the biggest cheer of the night. They had a great match with CM Punk winning via DQ after Rodriguez attacked him with a chair. Del Rio then attempted to use the chair with Rodriguez holding up Punk but Punk ducked out the way and then hit the GTS on Del Rio. Thats when I thought it was over as Punk stood there saluting all 4 sides of the buliding, but out came Miz, Truth and Ziggler to commence a beatdown. But before you know it, Cena, Ryder, Kingston and randomly Eve Torres were swooping down to Punks rescue. The heels were eventually overcome and left the ring except Ziggler who was surrounded by all the faces. The poor guy had to suffer all 4 finshers from the superstars before Eve Torres did another booty pop (at this moment I fell in love) and then flew off the top rope onto Ziggler.

After that they came round ringside and I got to slap hands with Kofi Kingston and CM Punk.

All in all it was a wonderful night with great matches and entertainment. I got to make eye contact with Micheal McGillicutty, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio. And I got to touch the hands of Eve Torres, Kofi Kingston, John Morrison and CM Punk. Oh and I can actually claim to have watched Kevin Nash wrestle live - well worth £50 in my opinion! Did anyone else go?

glad you really enjoyed it, it's good to hear someone talk so highly of a WWE show, there seems to be so much negativity around the TV shows. Are House Shows very different in atmosphere to the TV shows? I've only ever been to Raw.

I have been to the last 4 or 5 at Nottingham, and have always struggled to get the inner ringside seats, but began to notice the same faces in the front row time and time again. I assumed they are the ones that actually queue up at the venue. But last time round (April) they did a dance off and all the people chosen were there same front row people and it turned out the were all from Essex, Kent etc etc.

Anyway couldn't get inner seats this time so decided to give it a miss.

Yes house shows are different. There is a very personal feel to it and you get that feeling of the superstars doing it just for you if you get what I mean. Theres no bacstage skits or commentators either.

It is amazing to be there though and see people who you usually watch on TV from the other side of the world inches away from you...

Sounds like a good show, Nottingham is only an hour away from me so will have to keep my eye out for when they are next in town. On another note you Seamed to enjoy getting looked at in the eye by grown men wearing spandex far to much! kiss (joke)

Yeah I was acting like a star struck groupie as well when they looked at me LOL!!!!

No Foley wasnt there. We heard rumours he was meant to be referee in the main event. The referee got knocked out and someone came running down, we nearly jumped out our seats thinking it was Mick, but it was just Ricardo Rodriguez lol.

I was in row C in block RB meaning I was facing the titan tron and would have been behind the commentators if it was a televise show.

I have to admit Im not quite sure who Peter Griffin is (isnt he the dad in Family Guy?) so I cant say if I saw him, but Eve Torres had me in a trance. Especially the booty popping OMG!!! AND I TOUCHED HER HAND!!!!

Cool, i was in block RC row B with my daughter, both in our CM punk t's.
The family guy dude was a real nut, i think he would have actually killed to get his hands on a t shirt last night. Eves booty popping was fantastic most men would have been in a trance lol. I got touch her hand too and Punks although his was very sweaty......i got a great shot of the bellas, definately going again next year, I thought it was better than the smackdown taping. How do you upload pics on here?

Sounds really decent night I've really been put off house shows as noting of any note really happens. Went to one in 94 which Bret vs Owen headlined & I fought i'd seen the match several times before.

Was going to wait until Raw came to Manchester before going again but after this review I may have a look at the tour next time it comes into town

Nothing official happens, but they still put on good matches and they still interact with the crowd. The Awesome Truth were brilliant on the mic.

I also can be one of few who can claim to have seen Kevin wrestle in a WWE ring for the first time since whenever it was.

It also gives you an insight into the future as I know now they plan to put Nash in a match soon enough, and also I know for sure that he will be in cahoots with the Awesome Truth in some way.

Did McIntyre beat Marrella in Glasgow? He lost in Nottingham, but with it being his country surely they would have him win.

Also, he got a massive pop in Nottingham so what was the reaction for him there? Must have been huge!!

Can you believe they made him lose, unbelievable but he still got a huge pop in the end of the match and shook hands with Santino. Yeah when his entrace came out everyone marked out haha, there was a person holding a scottish flag and he took the flag and holded it in the air haha. Am sure someone got a good photo for that.

I was at Raw at the O2 in London last night- was exactly the same show! I thought it was pretty good, but why didn't they mix it up a bit, even if they were only house shows!
