My soup strainer is bugging me.
Agreed to grow the 'tache' for Movember with everyone else at my club but it is driving me potty!
Iches like a bugger, i can't stop fingering it (ooer missus!) and what is worse it still looks like whispy patchy fluff.
Aaaaaagh!

Yup man up! (although I haven't grown one this year) I always found shaving other parts of the fave (beard area/cheeks) always helped as does shaping and styling the growing lady tickler.

If I wanted to grow a tach for Movember I'd have to start in July! and I'm 36!

I have gone for the horseshoe with full sideburns - mind you as someone who has a 5 o'clock shadow by the time I have eaten breakfast it grows fast.

What is quite scary is that you know the terminology and have website links!
I'm in my 40's and shave about once a week!

Re: My soup strainer is bugging me.
I'm 36, probably medium on the hairy scale and growing a 'tache for the first time for Movember. Mine is not itching but i've lost count of the number of different colours growing through. My hair is brown but upon close inspection I seem to have some red/ginger, grey, blonde and white in there although thankfully it still looks brwon-ish from a distance. I also find it annoying that I have to take time over shaving so as not to lop some off by mistake and make it uneven.. I usually shave in a morning in the shower without a mirror and just using some soap but now I have to shave carefully and over the sink so I can see whats going on. I'm shaving a lesser area and instead of taking about 1 minute as normal it now takes at least 10 and I have to clean the sink afterwards!
Going for the standard 'tache' and the under lower lip 'tickler'. Mrs hates facial hair of any description but so far that's the only good thing about it. Can't wait until December 1st so I can get rid of it.

Re: My soup strainer is bugging me.
I grew my hair and beard for 11 months a couple a couple of years back when I was living in the Alps, something akin to Kleeberger in the end, but more vagranty as I refused to even trim it (had to trim the 'tache a bit in the end as twizzling the hairs Dali style didn't always hold without product and I often ended up chewing it and slurping on them if I had soup).
I found the itching went after 3-4 weeks. The biggest problem was getting it all suitably dry after a shower when the Alpine winter kicked in, and the ice crystals that formed from my own breath when outside.

Just don´t shave at all and then at the end of the month craft out your own mo from what you have.

Re: My soup strainer is bugging me.
I'm not growing a mo this year after my abject failure to grow a lip warmer last year (it looked like a 15 year old boys attempted tache after 3 weeks of hard growing) but have grown quite long sideburns and a beard before and a big problem I have is that hair on different parts of my body seems to grow different colours - I have dark brown hair on my head, black hair on my chest, light almost blond hair on my arms and my beard hair is almost ginger - it's a shocking combination - so this year I've opted out of the embarrisment.

You will get used to it after a while and the itching goes away. The thing that annoyed me the most was an uncontrollable urge to lick it. Wierd.

I know exactly what you mean... I keep finding myself twiddling the corners like some panto villian and I'm completely unaware I'm doing it. It's getting some strange looks at work!
