Tigers V Ulster
First topic message reminder :
Is it too early in the week to start this thread?
Don't care.
My local rugby calendar is clear for the day and I have two tickets for this beauty! The wife and I will be at Welford Road (she likes a bit of Toby) to cheer on the boys and looking forward to a great day.
Bring on the Irish Invasion!

Re: Tigers V Ulster
Hmm I would say the pool is firmly in Clermonts hands but thats another debate I suppose. It's all to play for but we need a bit of luck now.
We can only do our best now but for me that is 18-19 points and whatever happens elsewhere is out of our hands.

Re: Tigers V Ulster
I think we are fortuante in the way the fixtures fall as I think we can lay claim to being favourites for our next three matches.
Lets assume no bonus points - that makes us on 16 points
Let assume Clermont and Leicester beat each other and beat Aironi and both get 2 bonus points that makes it
Leicester 14 points
Clermont 16 points
It would still be in our own hands - albeit the small matter of winning in France.
That is what I expect. The most likely outcome we finish 3rd but in 80 mins, everyone fit, who knows.

I should add that because Leicester have no bonus points, like us, I think they have to win in France, or alternatviely at Ravenhill.
Clermont must be favorites as they are the only team that don't have to win at the home ground of one of the other two teams. It is their group to lose

Re: Tigers V Ulster
Geoff I would be hoping that we get 9 or 10 points against Aironi and then at least 4 against the Tigers whilst denying them the bonus. Thats 17-18 points.
I actually think we can get 5 points against the tigers at Ravenhill. I wasn't impressed with them at all and think a few of their guys might struggle at Ravers.

i think we'll look far far better when we get a couple of centres back. When's the game at Ravenhill? (hoping after christmas so we have manu back)

2nd weekend in January Nathan. Look I'm not saying I expect us to get 5 points, Geoffs scenario is more likely but from an Ulster perspective thats what we need to aim for as I think Clermont will be too strong in France and we should have picked up a point at welford road.

Re: Tigers V Ulster
Nathan we will have Afoa, Pienaer, Wallace and Terablanche playing then - we will be a much stronger side.
A world class TH and 3 of the 4 backs changed, importantly the 3 changes in the backs will get the best out of the threes - you didn't see what they can do at all on Saturday.

You should see a icon, marked MP, under your ID - that is a way to send a private message I believe. I can see such an icon under everyone else except myself. I assume you can view them at the top as their is a message icon at the top of the page.

well that's the same for both team's! (having said that judging by the season we've had so far i'm not going to get my hopes up. Still waiting for this backlash of some decent results)

It's much the same at Tigers where we are waiting for the full return of Ben Youngs (him coming off the bench was the tiping point) and a selection of centres (any of Allen, Manu and Twelvetrees) rather than our 5th and 6th choice options will hopefully see us actually have a midfield to utilise with hoepfully Tait back as well to offer midfield/back 3 explosive cover from the bench.
On the upside Forsyth's injury is not as serious as first thought!

Underneath the picture is the detail. No break just bad bruising so 2-3 weeks is estimated. Parling is out for 4-6 weeks which is a major loss ahead of the games against Clermont as he is in some great form.

Re: Tigers V Ulster
I'm sorry my Irish friends but we are going to overwhelm you at Ravenhill
We will demolish Aironi at home and it will be a squeaker but we will get past Clermont too. That's 13 pts added to the 8 we have making 21. Anything we get from Clermont away will be a bonus!
It going to be Leicester topping the table leaving Ulster & Clermont to scrap it out for 2nd place.

That video is really annoying. Irritatingly they tend to have the Tigers news first and in most detail so I find that I have to give it a read.
Metal Tiger I hope you are right.
