Best Song of all Time
After todays thread on Steffan's Shed 7 tickets, I'm running a 606v2 Boxing 'Best Song of All Time Thread'.
Much like Union (without the cheating and favouritism), you all get your picks. It ends on Sunday midnight. I'll then do a top 10 poll.
Fire away.........
PS list your top 3

1) 'I Can See for Miles' - The Who
2) 'Pretty Vacant' - The Sex Pistols
3) 'Here, There & Everywhere' - The Beatles
Would give a different top three every day, mind you.

Big fan mate, Smiths, Beatles, Bowie, Who, Stones, Radiohead, Libertines, that's my taste.
Have listened to The National? If you like the Smiths you'd probably like them.

Wonder how long it's been since the word 'innocent' was used in such close proximity to 'Gary' and 'Glitter'....

Actually think your very own username is the Stones best song mate, followed closely by Gimme Shelter.

Re: Best Song of all Time
Yeah it was hard to pick one...
My favourites are generally the ones more from Keith such as Happy and You Got The Silver but as the title was best songs of all time, I felt it more appropriate to go for the headliners so was stuck between Sympathy, Satisfaction and Gimme Shelter.
Not so struck on Radiohead but There is a Light and Here Comes are both outstanding tracks!

Happy is a great tune, follows Loving Cup brilliantly on Exile - best bit of the album. Radiohead aren't to everyone's taste but I love them, and Thom Yorke is the best live vocalist I've seen.
Couldn't not include Here Comes... Nearly killed myself mastering it on the guitar, and me and Mrs Sugar walked out of the church to it at our wedding - I'd have it at my funeral.

I do hope that comment isn't tinged with sarcasm? The Sultans of Swing Guitar solo is one of the best. Also like a bit of Romeo and Juliette when I'm feeling romantic.........

Absolutely because their failure to sell loads of records has always been the reason I love the Stones and Elvis.

You're very bad tempered this morning, jeff. Did TSMR turn her back on you last night?
What's not to like about that song that contains the following lyrics:
And a crowd of young boys they're fooling around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles
Genius.
