Burnell and Baber for the Blues.

Cardiff Blues chairman Peter Thomas has confirmed coaches Gareth Baber and Justin Burnell will be in charge for the rest of the season.
Baber and Burnell were appointed interim coaches after Dai Young left the region to join side London Wasps in June.
The Blues board met before the region's Heineken Cup win over London Irish.
"We're very happy with Justin Burnell and Gareth Baber," Thomas told BBC Wales Sport.
"We shall be giving them 100% support for the rest of the season."
Friday night's win over London Irish maintained the Blues' perfect start in the Heineken Cup following victory over Racing Metro the previous weekend.
Prior to the London Irish match Burnell had said he would have been "disappointed" had they not been asked to continue in their roles.

Obvious decision for a board with hardly any money to spend.

It covers all the bases, they have had some good results, they are 2 good young Welsh coaches, their also cheap as chips!
Better to develop welsh coaches than bring in someone from abroad, good for the Blues.

I agree. They have done well under difficult circumstances. They have had to deal with constant speculation and pressure about who's going to come in; this must have been a distraction to both the players and the management but they have held it together well and have earned the respect of the players.
It's only fair to give them a chance, as long as they are not used as scapegoats by Mr Thomas further down the line.

but, given their results in the heini so far perhaps i should shut up.
good luck to them. fingers crossed it works out well for us but it could end in tears.

You say that but it's not as if the Blues are bringing in any All blacks or Springboks is it, for the most part their totally broke and relying on Welsh Premiership players, academy prospects and players no one else wanted.dogtooth wrote:im still not totaly convinced by them...

The role of the regions is to develop Welsh talent and the Blues are doing it well with no more or less success than when Peter Thomas was spending a fortune of his own money trying to buy success.
There have been a few sickening results this season for the blues, that disgraceful home loss by the Scottish side, but they have also had a few cracking wins, in sport you have to take the rough with the smooth.

true, and things seem to be going ok so far this season; ok in europe and ok in the league. so far, so good.
pay penuts you get monkies, but pay champagne prices and you get a load of froth, no substance and a hang over.
