Munroe to Bantam???

There is a story on secondsout that Rendall Munroe is dropping down to bantamweight.

Considering he is very big for super bantam, this appears a risky move to me and hope it doesn't leave him drained because I have a lot of time for Rendall.

Maybe his team think he will have more of a world title chance at bantam because of the wealth of talent at the top end of the super division.

Anybody hear more about this?

Sounds crazy to me given how big a super-bantam Rendall is. Might be a dangerous move.

odd choice if true... risky but i guess he wants a world title badly this may be his only way

That was my thinking too.

Maybe with Donaire on his way to super bantam, they think it's worth the risk to avoid having to potentially face him and couldn't see any other route to a winnable title shot.

if donaire does move up to face nishioka like suggested then that means there will be two vacant titles in the bantamweight division.
