Safin favours Djokovic in London!
Nothing exciting about Safin's prediction but I found this article funny for 2 reasons:
1 - He said just 2 years ago that he won't be the kind of guy hanging around in the tennis world as a commentator like those "old champions. I have an exciting life ahead of me". But obviously it did not take him long to look for his seat next to the old champs and share his views. I guess being paid £250k a forthnight might be something to consider once the sponsors money and guess fees run out. However, knowing how little interest he had in the sport when it concerned him directly, I cannot take his comments seriosuly now that he left the tour.
2 - Then comes that typical Safin's comment. "Andy Murray? He is a great player, a smart player and I respect him, but I don't see much hope for him (at this event). Sorry."
Safin reminds me of Nastase actually. A huge talent but a clown on court and a clown off court.
Glad to have you back!

So much for the grand gesture.
I liked his play but I did always think he was a bit of a prat, very full of himself but ultimately he was outshone.

I liked Safin in a way because he was fallible, and imperfec, which allowed me to identify with him easier than with Federer (though I loved Fed's tennis). As for this, well at least he's blunt, and I agree with the general assesment, I think these courts will favour Djokovic.

I reckon Djoker's season is running on empty fuel now. Won't win tis tour but he'll be tough to beat in Aus,

Looks like Safin was right regarding Murray.

This year a fully fit Novak should be favourite wherever he plays.
