Post by Guest Mon 21 Nov 2011, 4:23 pm

First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Ale cuppa coffee mug guinness cider RedWine Bubbly

I just remembered about Williams coaching Scotland!

Did you change your last post or did I completly misread it first time?

Thanks Asbo.

I hadn't known that about their history but I have to say I have never seen a more unhappy Ulster squad than in the Matt Williams period. I actually remember posting about it on the old 606. Makes a bit more sense now.

Lucky if you can't get a copy I've got one and can hang on to it for a couple of weeks until the big meet up if you still want to read the leak analysis then.

They managed to fill about 8 pages on it.

ah bum. Was wondering if we were going to hear anything about this at all, was going to ask you later. Think 5 weeks is really steep for that tackle.

I swing one leg over the ballustrade, then the other. Then I take, like, a deep breath and try to, I suppose, gather myself? It must be, like, a 70-foot drop. The obvious crosses my mind. The big question. Is it worth risking my life just to avoid an awkward goodbye?

And the answer - as always - is probably yes.

I take another deep breath. Then for some reason, I look back up. And I end up nearly having a hort attack.
Breege is standing on the balcony in front of me, staring at me like she can't believe what she is actually seeing?

I feel automatically bad. "I just didnt want to wake you", I try to explain. " No offence but I only wanted it to be, like, a one-night thing? "

She's, like, " WHAT?" obviously pished off.

I'm thinking, hey, hate the game, baby, not the player.

"Look, its nothing personal" I go. "I've just never been one for, like, post-match chat."

And her reply, I have to admit, causes me to nearly lose my grip on the rail.

" Ross," she goes, "We're in The Grange. This is where you live"

Evenin All coffee

Not read back yet, so in the interim, can anyone tell me:

1. How many Lions caps Rob Kearney got in 2009? Was it 2 or 3?

2. Any ideas what shoe size he is? I don't think it's 11....

Hi Cari.
1. On 21 April 2009, Kearney was named as a member of the British and Irish Lions for the 2009 tour to South Africa.[10] He made his Lions test debut as a substitute in the 26–21 1st Test defeat in Durban. Due to an injury to Lee Byrne, Kearney was selected again for the second test in Pretoria. He scored the only try for the Lions, however they lost 28–25. He then played in the final test in Johannesburg where the Lions won 28–9.

So once as sub + 2 starts.

2. No idea. You sending him Red Dragon slippers for Kerst?

Normally I'd be having a good giggle at England's misfortunes, but this is beyond a joke. Makes sad reading as a rugby fan. Still a Ale will make things better.

(c) Ross O' Carroll-Kelly.

Hate the player not the game. Never works as an excuse. Usually met with a drink in the face or a slap across the chops followed by the word Bar Steward. Or so I'm told anyway...
