The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

You've done a sterling (Stirling?) job, Asbo. And the weekend coincides with the landlord's 10th anniversary party! Can't fault it!

I don't really mind what way we travel or what we do. Im just uber confused as to whats happening after Scarlets v Munster.
Disney'll go down a treat so long as singing is permitted!!
I THINK everyone's gathering in Cardiff, some are going to the gig and others are just 'hanging around' and then after the gig it's piling into either my car or Asbo's minibus and Exeter 'ho!!
Does have any spare tickets going does anyone know?!

Here it is,
Asbo leaves london at 11 am on Friday morning with Pete
People begin arriving in Ewe Tree from around 4 (including myself chef and Gibbo )
Friday night, cardiff based regs are doing the Blues game, whereas us in Devon will be getting pished in the local (best have fosters on tap buddy)
Saturday morning, I'm on breakfast (i promise not to poison anyone) and were are getting the train from Tiverton Parkway to Llanethelllliieeeeyyyyyyyy VIA cardiff, where we will meet cardiff people
After the game we are going to see the Quo and Kim Wilde in cardiff, ( it'll be a laugh I swear) then back to Ewe Tree
Sunday morning, breakfast again and a minibus (i think) to Barf and back to Sandy Park (great little stadium) where I will disappear chasing an older woman for 80 minutes then back to the local for pints all night
Monday, do whatever the flock you want

I am now getting seriously seriously jealous of you lot.
Hughie, I wonder who the "older" woman is? Given you mental age sometimes that could be anyone who has reached the onset of puberty

As, do I need to do anything about train/gig/match tickets or just bring lots of cash?
Huggie, I'm getting to Devon on the Friday by train from Hythe via London. Are you and Gibbo training to Devon or meeting up with in Southampton? If train from London, would be great to meet up there.

Asbo, I'll be driving to Parc Y Scarlets and can do runs to and from Station if that helps. I won't be coming East until Sunday morning and will meet you in Bath. As such I have room in my car for up to two stragglers to go from Cardiff/ Newport to Bath. I have 8 terrace tickets, 2 stand season tickets and 2 extra stand tickets for KIA, Dreamer and KIA already have the rest of the stand tickets for the Scarlets match. I won't be following you down to Essetur, as I'll have wife and Baby with me

For Munsty, clean religious jokes from America, but still funny:
Church ladies with typewriters.
> Those wonderful Church Bulletins!
> The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals.
--------------------------
> The sermon this morning: 'Jesus Walks on the Water.' The sermon tonight: 'Searching for Jesus.'
--------------------------
> Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.
--------------------------
> Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say 'Hell' to someone who doesn't care much about you.
--------------------------
> Don't let worry kill you off - let the Church help.
--------------------------
> Miss Charlene Mason sang 'I will not pass this way again,' giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
--------------------------
> For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs.
--------------------------
> Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.
--------------------------
> Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.
--------------------------
> A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow..
--------------------------
> At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be 'What Is Hell?' Come early and listen to our choir practice.
--------------------------
> Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.
--------------------------
> Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.
--------------------------
> Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want remembered..
--------------------------
> The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.
--------------------------
> Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - prayer and medication to follow.
--------------------------
> The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.
--------------------------
> This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park across from the Church. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.
--------------------------
> Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM . All ladies are invited to lunch in the Fellowship Hall after the B. S. Is done.
--------------------------
> The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the Congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.
--------------------------
> Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM . Please use the back door.
--------------------------
> The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare's Hamlet in the Church basement Friday at 7 PM . The congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.
--------------------------
> Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please use large double door at the side entrance.
--------------------------
> The Associate Minister unveiled the church's new campaign slogan last Sunday: 'I Upped My Pledge - Up Yours.

There are some crackers there, Glas. I remember being told of one from a church newsletter, I don't know how genuine it is:
'As it is Easter Sunday, Mrs White will come forward and lay an egg on the altar.'

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Afternoon all.
Right train times to Llanelli!
If I remember correctly Asbo said you guys were getting the train that reaches Llanelli at 14:07 on Saturday the 10th. if that is so, people getting the train from Cardiff would need to get the 12:08 (I think from memory). It doesn't usually take 2 hrs to get to Llanelli, it's more like 1hr 20mins, but there'll be a change and a bit of a wait at Swansea I assume, I'll double check all this though.
Glas - a word of caution if you really want to taxi people to and from the station to the stadium, the traffic at least an hour and a half up to kick off is an absolute nightmare (which I'm sure you know anyway!) and then you might struggle to get a parking spot. Reckon we'd be much better off getting taxi's straight there, but tis up to you really, tis v nice of you to offer

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Aye OK Dreamer. There had been talk of getting an earlier train and going for a pre match pint/watching the Connacht game in a Pub. If you are cutting it that fine though, I will meet you there, just giving 4 of you a lift there or back because of town centre traffic seems pointless! If any Cardiff regs are driving down you can park at my place and come to the stadium in my car. I take the backroads to the stadium 40-45 minutes usually even allowing for traffic.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I shall indeed Lucky.
I'll look up train times for the way back as well, so if people can let me know what time Mick gig is in Cardiff that would be fab, so then I can figure out which time park and ride bus we need to get back to the station from the stadium.
And righty, off back to work
Glas - ah well those of us in Newport/Cardiff would be able to get an earlier train, I'd just assumed we'd be meeting all those travelling up from Exeter on the train in Cardiff is all.

Can those wishing to come to the Quofest please let me know asap;cos it's a multi-group affair, we may have to split the price of a few tickets between us,so I will need to know the numbers.I will hopefully have between 8 and 10 freebies, the others will have to be ordered in advance.
I reckon we have
