First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I think this Australian match is a disadvantage for our players to be honest. It's an additional fixture we could do without.

Just watching Purple Rain for a laugh - a truly god awful film, but cheesy fun.

Evening Cari coffee

I'm watching it too! Utter pants but amusing nonetheless Smile He is a pretty good guitarist though. I met him once when he did a few gigs in Sheffield donkeys years ago. Have to admit they were some of the best live shows I've ever seen.

Evening Kenny. How's things? Hope your recovery is progressing well. guinness

Evening/Morning all... still raining, still raining... feels like Bladerunner

I hope your back pain is under control Kenny... big game coming up this weekend.

Years ago my brother was in London (around the time when Purple Rain was made?) and someone he knew who knew Prince said he was the absolute perfectionist... stayed in the studio all through the night playing every instrument, laying down extra tracks long after everyone else had gone home. When the rest of the crew arrived in the mornings... they couldn't believe the amount of work he had put in overnight.

Unusual personality... but so totally driven with his music.

Great to see Wales do well in the 7s yesterday. That young Harry fella had a blinder against England. Not really into 7s but still was good to see the exuberance of the top sides like NZ, Fiji, Samoa... Wales not too shabby either.

Meanwhile our guys.... hopeless! steam

It was only in passing Cari. I worked as one of the local casual crew at Sheffield Arena in the early 90's and he did 3 (I think) nights there. I was working in the production office and he came in one day. I got a nod of acknowledgement but that was it. I did get to see in his dressing room at one point though, and it was much as you'd expect!

I met far friendlier and nicer people. Bon Jovi and Aerosmith spring to mind. They were all lovely, and fun.

How often is the physio Kenny? Are you still on painkillers?

Evening LB, from what I saw that's totally true about Prince. His sound checks were the most exacting I ever saw.

Kenny, you'll probably find that after 3 months the pain feels worse... but don't panic. That's normal. I had the same with my leg. It then starts to fade away.

The old man gave me some good simple advice - "just do what you would normally do and try not to favour it too much".

What colour band? Red, yellow or green?

Broke leg in 3 places playing football swanny... nasty! The 3 months coincides with the weaning off the oxycontin, etc. Pain can surge back but I found it was the most difficult time.

So is the yellow = intermediate Kenny? Red, the most resistance?

I know it's a constant refrain but I was ticked off at the reffing team in the Scarlets match last night. The ref spoilt the match by not ruling the breakdown, at all. It was like watching Munster V Munster A with Alan Quinlan reffing. But that was not the worst bit. Jones and Hayes are experienced referees and were touch judges. Both sides were constantly offside in the backs. If ball was secured from the melée of the breakdown there was no space out wide at all. To add insult Hayes reported a 'tip tackle'. 2 players were standing still. The tackler takes the other by the legs and lays him gently on the ground, albeit on his back. They wanted to send him off but didn't catch his number! Ffs! The Welch pulling down was nothing, but the Coombes forearm smash to Wellies' jaw was far more dangerous "we didn't get a number" I'll give you a clue Coombes is the 6'6" bloke with Ginger Flip hair you Muppet! This was a Welsh derby with a disappointing crowd numbers. Is it any Flip wonder when the reffing team lacked any feel for the game. If a player had to retire early with injury the WRU should subsidise them to be fast tracked in as refs. I've been reffed by Tim Hayes when he was a PE teacher and I was playing 7's in the Carmarthenshire YFC competition. He was Poopie.

Bore da/Good morning!

Had two highlights to my trip to Y Parc yesterday:

1. Got to meet up with Rhino for a bit after the match, was absolutely lovely to see him again.

2. I got my Scarlets calander and it has Foxy and Georgie in it! and better yet, got Georgie for the month of July Yahoo (Foxy's photo for Ferbruary is my fave though)

The match was pretty dreadful. Neither team could get any decent possession, there was no flow to it to get the crowd involved. It wasn't actually that bad a crowd, just under 8,000 so more then what we got against Casres and a bigger crowd then what we had last year against the Dragons I believe.

Needless to say the ref was public enemy no.1 in the terracing. It was so frustrating for both sets of fans to watch I think. Tis a shame as with both backlines on show, we really could have had a great game of running rugby. Ah well. CHuffed with the win, although the Dragons are unlucky not to get a LBP.

I was thinking of the £3 meal deal in Subway. Make sure you chose a filling with energy and protein and it should keep you going all day thumbsup

Got the fire lit in the living room next door, got the cat curled up on my lap and my mam's just made mea cuppa. Not long till the baabaa's game either so I am one happy Dreamer.

Only downside is that I couldn't persuade my Mam to take me PyS today to watch Llanelli v Ponty. Nige is refereeing that one, and it should be a good game.

Afternoon all from a windy MadStad.

Just tucking into the obligatory pre match chicken curry pie. Rumours abound that Bowden was injured in training yesterday and Jarvis will start at 10. I pray its not true, but the way our luck is running it probabl is.

eep fingers crossed it isn't then Pete.

What time does your match start? Have a feeling loads of games will be starting at the same time, I'm going to struggle keeping track of all of them!
