Is anyone else having trouble accessing the internet through 3G?
I have an iPhone 4 and it just doesn't wanna connect!

Probably should have got a proper phone rather than a posing device.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
It makes calls, receives calls, text messages and vibrates.... does that not constitute a proper phone?

I'm not sure everyone would agree that they can make calls

Re: 3 Mobile Network
I have the old school 3G (Waiting for the 5 before upgrading!) and I'm not having any problems with 3G connection. Could be more to do with area though I guess.

While I was on 3 the reception was better than a lot of people I know on the other networks.King Beer wrote:First problem i've had in 3 years.Hero wrote:The 3 network is generally considered the worst, most techies I know snigger when it's mentioned.

Type 'which is the worst phone network' into Google, it's littered with comments etc about 3.

The first 3 i read were about the customer service. Which i agree is pants. But i very rarely don't have a signal, i've never had tariff trouble or phone problems and to be fair, any time i have called them, my query has been dealt with.
Guess it's a matter of opinion.

Why would I read second hand information when I was with them for years?Hero wrote:Type 'which is the worst phone network' into Google, it's littered with comments etc about 3.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
You've obviously been the lucky one, they are though generally regarded as the worst phone network provider.

Again, it comes down to opinion.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
A lot of reputation is down to passing on another persons opinion and is hard to shake. I've heard a few times "Don't go with 3, you won't get reception anywhere" only to find out they have never used them. And their reception is probably the best in my experience, I could make calls in villages where other networks didn't get signal.Hero wrote:You've obviously been the lucky one, they are though generally regarded as the worst phone network provider.
Customer service may not be great, I guess you have to have problems to experience that.
But I had a very cheap phone - £5 per month, with near enough to unlimited texts/calls. Not a great phone but great value.

Review site that came top of Google rankings:
http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews12640.html
3 had the most reviews (989) and the worst score.
Yes it's opinion, but it's a widely held opinion.

Just scanning it it's again either complaints about the coverage or the customer service.
With regards to coverage, we live in an age of technology where the internet proves a useful tool, so here's an idea for them, google your flipping area to check coverage before buying.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
Apparently something has changed in the last few months so their coverage/signal isn't as good. Don't have much inclination to find exactly what, but they used to piggyback the signal of some of the other networks and it seems something to do with that.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
Has anyone with Orange/T mobile noticed an improvement since they joined forces?
Maybe it's as a result of them combining that 3 is getting pushed out piggyback wise?

Re: 3 Mobile Network
Never had a coverage problem with 3, even when my battery is on it's last legs I manage to get on the internet. Went with them as they were the cheapest when I wanted a decent phone and then stayed once my upgrade was due.
I don't know anyone that has been on Vodafone in South Wales who was happy with the coverage.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
The problem with review sites is that people are always more likely to post a negative review.
You tend not to notice things when they are functioning in the correct manner hence you are less likely to think about reviewing it. It is when something unexpected or unwanted happens that it draws your attention. That is when you are more likely to post something.

Re: 3 Mobile Network
Been with 3 for quite a few years, and yes, the 3G is slow in some places, but its not unusable even then.
Haven't had any problems with 3 or with their customer service, always get polite staff and the one problem I had was cancelling a contract I stupidly took out when on another (long story, not enough room here), but got there in the end. The upshot was, they put me on a third reduced tariff with double everything !! so I've no complaints.
Was there ever a "best" service provider, they all have pro's and cons.
