The Amazon Shop is open! (again!)

Further to our recent announcement regarding Amazon, we experienced some technical difficulties but are happy to confirm that everything is now up and running.

We are using a separate web-site which we feel gives a more professional look and feel to our shop page and circumnavigates the previous teething problems, which can be found here:

Again we have highlighted some certain items which are great deals at the moment for Christmas presents.

The answer to your question is I dont know for sure.

I have asked but the answer is ambiguous to say the least.

If you order through the link, it may try and charge you delivery from the UK - the best advice is to try it and see what it says.

No I didn't Adam because was not sure if it was straight forward a process and did not want to miss out, but don't worry mate buy a ton of books and CD's on Amazon and can promise will always use the link in future.

Why are all the answers to questions here by "PM"? I think a lot of the questions being asked may well be FAQs and of interest to everyone.

I tried to order something through Amazon yesterday and clicked through the V2 shop links yet by the time I got to the item I wanted to order, the URL seemed to have lost the referrer code.

Do you only get credit on the items that the V2 shop itself advertises? I thought the idea was that if you go to Amazon through the shop link then navigate to wherever you want without closing the window, the "visit" would still be credited to V2

I'm having the same problem Davie mentioned, when I click through it loses the affiliate link in the url unless I stay on that exact product that is displayed in the grassroots amazon shop.

Any ideas?

No, whenever I go to any other item it loses the affiliate code still. I checked by going through gv2 and then again by going straight to amazon from my google in another window and both have the exact same url.

It just isn't working for items other than those you've featured.

I suppose it's possible that the Amazon site is "remembering" via some other means exactly who the referrer was without it appearing in every URL. It could be that purchases are still being credited to v2 but we just don't know it

We are looking into that Davie.
I bought some DVD's through their search facility after first going through the shop link. If we have confirmation of them noted then it is ok. Will get back to you.

We have confirmation of the DVD's I ordered. (Which I bought through searching)
As Davie says, they must be tracing the referral some way.

Okay admin guys & gals, can I just make sure I've got this correct before I try and order.

1. I go into Amazon UK via the link to the grassroots link on this thread.
2. I log into my account
3. I select a featured item at random and then navigate from there to select the items I wish to order (checking the url still's states 606v2 or whatever)
4. I purchase said items and the admin team enjoy a Christmas beer on me? (kidding, it's a small order due to shipping costs to Canada but these are items not available on the .ca version)

One other thing. My Amazon account is a Canadian one as I can't remember my UK account details anymore but it lets me long into the UK site

Finally got around to trying to place my mini order (decided to wait and see if the bits I wanted ended up in the sales) and although the link to the grassroots site from 606v2 in this thread works, the linky to the actual 606v2 Amazon Shop in the grassroots thread doesn't work. What I am doing wrong?

I got the link on the Grassroots site to work by making myself a member on there as well as 606v2 and everything seemed to go through okay. Is there any way to check the purchase worked? (ie you got your kickback from Amazon). Only I'm going to get my Mum a Kindle sent direct to her house for her birthday and will do the same if it did in fact work last time.
