Someone else posted this link, so I am not taking credit. But when the sponsors are re-evaluating their contracts with the RFU, this will drive change. A reduction in sponsorship money will be the kick in the butt the RFU needed. £4 million from Nike, £16 million total sponsorship money in 2011. Everything else is white noise.
As the great prophet said: Money talks, b*llsh*t walks.

Yeah, change it to "bottom". Americanisms are likely to get you banned.

All rugby unions makes money, and usually have a large sum in reserves. I wonder what that money is used for, other than earn interests. Providing a mower, tin of paint and a set of posts cannot use that much up. Are unions public concerns? Do they have share holders?

OzT,
A lot of the money earned gets plowed back to the grass roots clubs, as well as taking care of HQ and all ages and levels of the England squads. Pays salaries of employees and Saxons/England players. It is pretty interesting the diverse involvements of the major National Unions.

On the other hand, the RFU pays Rob Andrew's salary.

Cheers doctor_grey for that.

But just still seems a lot of money for unions to have in their account. Not just RFU, but all the other unions will have a similiar sum stashed somewhere.
