Yes it was on a timer , went off at 10 pm never came back on . Had a engineer down on tuesday as it had started to play up but now its dead as a dodo

I don't mind spending a week or two around Christmas in a cold climate but I think I would struggle with 3-4 months of really cold stuff.

Me not. At least not somewhere that's hot all the time. I know we complain incessantly about the weather but I'd hate to live somewhere that doesn't have seasonal change. Winter into spring is my favourite time of year.

Lots of Aussies are like you; they rave on and on about summer... I'm a minority. I used to love the heat but I'm quite happy with our below average temps at the moment.
