A good set of stairs usually does the trick. Just make sure the boxes you're carrying are full of replaceable items:)

I get the same feeling when I watch somebody twist their legs in a tackle. Shocking one the other day when a Swans player had an awful break... and they showed it from all possible angles.
Nerves shoot up me legs when I see that!

Right decision if you don't mind me saying. You've still got the end of May to look forward to and you have to get your back sorted

What can I say? We're deliberately contrary
Where you off to at the end of May? Somewhere warm and sunny?

Sounds very much like the situation my sister is in. Hers are much younger than yours though, my niece is 3 1/5 and my nephew has just turned 1 so they've gone for camping in the UK. My poor sis is desperate for some sunshine!

My youngest is 4 in september , im sure she thinks shes an olympic athlete she cant stay still for longer then 5 minutes . We thought about a UK holiday but you just cant rely on the weather can you , hopefully a spoon full of calpol will calm her down ,well that and keeping her awake before hand so she might fall asleep on the flight .

yeah that sounds just like Isobelle! I am soooo jealous of her energy!
They must be very close in age, Isobelle's birthday is 12th September.

Summer's is the 30th September , she misses out on the school term this year , so she will be one of the oldest when it comes round to going next year

Re: The Reaction Game
Oh that's a lovely name.
Similar for Isobelle, she'll be one of the oldest when she starts school next year. Frightening thing is that we're talking about school already, doesn't seem like 5 minutes since she was a tiny wee new-born. And now she's a fully fledged personality with BIG attitude!

Re: The Reaction Game
Blydi 'ell!!! That's one big baby!!!
My sister decided not to find out the first time so it was a surprise. She'll freely admit she was pleased when she had a girl. Isobelle has definitely taken after the female line, she's only very slight. If memory serves correctly she was 6lb 10oz at birth.

Re: The Reaction Game
Yes we knew the baby was big after the scans , and we had convinced ourselves it was a boy so when she came out via c-section it was a wonderful surprise . She's is the exact opposite of my son , he's quite and will do anything you ask were as she is noisy , loud , argumentative , wont do as shes told and is so opinionated and full of her own ideas im sure shes been here before in another life .

Re: The Reaction Game
It's funny you should say that. I was convinced from the moment my sis told me she was expecting (the first time) that it was a girl. Unchartered territory so I went with my instinct.
Having a boy the 2nd time has given us the chance to compare and contrast. Jacob is now turning out like Summer. At only 1 he's noisy, independent, and completely uninterested in what you tell him to do, whereas Isobelle listens to what she's told and sticks to it. Simple example, we have a wood-burning stove. Isobelle was told once not to go near it as it's hot, she still avoids it now. Jacob was told the same at the same age and now makes a bee-line for the blydi thing at every given opportunity!

Re: The Reaction Game
I wish Owen had a bit more of Summers confidence , he is a willing follower were as she takes over everything . I suppose it helped her having him to learn from but she is so forward all her nursery teachers are amazed by her .

Re: The Reaction Game
The difference in their developement is amazing, and a lot of it is down to the child's individual personality. I'm not a parent so it's not really my place to say but I do believe that with the right guidance a child will find a place that suits them.
I was painfully shy as a child, but I always had a quiet confidence in what I believed to be the right way for me. Have to admit that the quiet confidence eventually developed into an 'up yours', 'don't care what you think of me' attitude that still prevails today! Don't worry about Owen, he has the confidence, he just needs the right situation to show it.

I did it as a young man and it was horrible. Much prefer a long day over a nightshift.
