The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The gig starts at 7pm Mick?
Reckon we won't have any time to spend at PyS after the match at all then.
K.o match is 3:40 sooo that looks like 5:10 finish, not sure when the first park and ride to the station will start, might be 5:30, so we'd have to try and book taxi's to the train station to make the 5:41 train to get us back to Cardiff for 7:22, otherwise it's the 6:35 train getting into Cardiff 7:57.

I'm aiming to get back after rugby for 6.30 I think, going to park near to the arena for a quick escape...if others wanted to jump in my car there is still space!!
Guys: the motorpoint arena is in the centre of Cardiff about a 6min walk from the station.

Check transport with Asbo and Hughie.
I studied geography a long time ago, and never knew that Llanelli - Cardiff was so distant;do they speak the same language, or is just down to dialects?
My man is in Brighton on Friday, so I have to get to the venue in the diff earlyish on Saturday evening. Is a taxi outrageously expensive?

Just a word about the arena. It takes a while to leave the building after a gig there (assuming it's packed to capacity), so make sure you give yourselves time to get out and back to the car, and you're probably best parking in the NCP across the road.

Mick - between Cardiff and Llanelli it's usually 1hr 20mins on the train, sometimes 1hr 40 mins if there's a wait in Swansea.
I wouldn't have a clue on taxi prices, but it cost me £6.20 to get a 10 min taxi journey from the train station to the stadium, so yes, I think it will cost you a heck of a lot.

I think a mini bus from PYS to the arena is looking a better bet. How many are you? I could sort a mini bus this side, the driver will have better knowledge this side, that side is easy. I could even be persuaded to hire a self drive to take you.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Glasgow have got back to backs with Montpol rather than Clermont, and they have drawn at home vs Leinster and lost away to Bath, so there's a chance Montpellier might not bother with the fixture away in Glasgow next up? If they lose that, then not bother will a first team for the return home either, being at that point of this year's HC?MBTGOG wrote:Asbo,
Problem with Clermont is they can put out a weaker side and they'll still be a massive test for Glasgow. Nagusa's try for Montpol was an absolute cracker though.
Did you see the Edinburgh game?
Half way thru watching Munster vs Edin on the iPlayer
Gib, that Saturday evening looks rammo, but I'm sure that we could squeeze Cariadwr in The lass has been avoiding me on her London trips for nearly 3 years now, so there's no escape for her this time, we're going to meet!!Gibson wrote:Are we staying for a few pints in Cardiff too As?
Would like to meet Cari for a coffee in the Diff.
Meeting PJHolybloke and his Mrs for a pint in Bath also. So a venue would be handy up front. Busy times.
This shouldnt be called The Big Meet. Should be called the Asbo Tour.
Its your gig man and you have done a stunning job organising it... if I may say so.
So thats it. The Asbo Tour.
Grand to meeting PJHolybloke, great idea - I think that Cumbrian was also up for meeting us as he lives in Bath. Am working with the resident expert, de Hound, to sort out an appropriate venue.
Defo not the "Asbo Tour", doesn't have a ring to it - I like the 'Tour of Four' to honour the hardcore that will make Blues vs Embra, Scarlets vs Munster, Bath vs Leinster and Chiefs vs Dragons
Right, will arrange pick up from there around midnight?Mick(TEFC) wrote:Asbo it's the Motorpoint Arena??

Cariadwr, is there a good pub nearby that would be a sensible place for the people carrier to pick us up?Cari wrote:Just a word about the arena. Cardiff - Llanelli is not very far, 55 miles. It's just the trains are absolute sh!te
17:41 Llanelli to Cardiff arrive 19:22 is NOT a direct train - change at Swansea (18 minute wait)
18:35 - 19:57 is direct
The Motorpoint is a 5/10 minute walk from the Central station.
We'll not be going to the Quo gig, so we won't be in a mad rush to get the 17:41 train

Do you want me to look into a 14 seater to slip you up to Cardiff? £10-15 max I'd have thought. Chef a Taxi would be well over £100.

Righty if it comes down to it, I would much rather give the gig a miss instead of rushing to get there from PyS, and I can just meet up with you guys again after it in the Diff. So if anyone else wants my gig ticket, then go for it. I've seen the Quo live before so would much rather someone who's not seen them get the ticket

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I'd say pick up at the vulcan/atrium, about a 1min walk from the arena but far enough away plus it's right by where i'm parking.
I've got no worries if anyone wants to come with me, may still have my kit in the boot mind so apologies for any smells!! Will require a postcode and may nab my sis' sat-nav thingy to argue with!! Oh and it's a strictly only car apart from for me obviously!!

Sorry but I really needed to get that out of my system! Bro-in-law is a nice guy but he's got no Flip idea whatsoever! His son is ill, he has bronchiolitis, he's 7 months old. Telling him to stop crying 'cos it's annoying will get you nowhere!! Try picking the poor baby up and comforting him instead of Flip complaining and leaving it all to my sister to do.

Oh and he should also put down the X-box game and talk to his daughter who is still struggling to come to terms with the arrival of a little brother and the loss of sole attention. Baby + illness = little girl with nose out of joint. That's why she's playing up and being naughty. Is it so hard to work out? I don't think so...

Bore da pawb / good morning all, welcome to Monday!
Only three weeks and two days of work until the Christmas holidays - and this is my last full five-day week. To quote my brother-in-law, I am happy with that result.*
* - My middle brother-in-law is really into Hondas and had some work done on his car, so he was interviewed about it by a Honda magazine. They had his name and what he'd done to the car, and asked him what he thought of it. They quoted him as saying, 'I am happy with that result.' This is the same brother-in-law who my sister texted with the news that she'd got a 2:1 for her degree. He texted back saying, 'Nice one.' No x x x nor even an exclamation mark.
