The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

haha, exactly
I even resisted putting a Christmas film on today to make me feel better, that shall be for the weekend!
I absolutely love Christmas, tis just a shame I'm the only one of my family that really does! They are all

Saeson is Welsh for Englishmen, Thomond. Calling it a joke would be a stretch, though!

Good grief! I would've thought Harinordoquy is big enough to fight his own battles, never mind getting his da on!

I have to admit, it's made me giggle a bit...a big pro rugby player getting his dad on the pitch...that's usually schoolboy stuff...not so funny he punched someone though.

Morning folks
Very quiet in here last night. I had viewings on the house last night.5 people around, cut three immediately and left with two a Kiwi bloke called Andy and an Ozzie chick called Ash.
Both sound, easy to get along with and would fit in well. We canny decide who to take

Bore da pawb / good morning all.
Bubbly, Breaker? In my experience, people who describe themselves as 'bubbly' become very annoying very quickly. Living with a bubbly person could lead to verbal and ultimately physical violence.
But it's your call, Hughie!

Just felt like using the word, lucky. Although you're right - bubbly can equal bloody annoying.
A quick jump to the verbal and physical violence I see? Who'd want to live with that?

I was only kidding about the violence. I wouldn't hurt a fly. Wasps, yes, but that's self-defence in my book.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Definitely. You have a right to defend yourself if attacked by a wasp.
I'm still trying to picture the candidates - I probably meant a nice personality rather than bubbly (but was reminded of a former flatmate who was quite a character - but not the annoying type), ability to pay the rent, some cooking & cleaning and not impartial to a bit of sport.
I'd prefer someone who can hold a conversation to a church mouse too - if they have most/all of those characteristics, I'd be happy. Best to avoid someone with a chip-on-their-shoulder too... but it's sometimes hard to ascertain this during a short introduction.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It's so hard to tell what a person's going to be like to live with when all you have to go on is fifteen minutes or so with them. Two former housemates seemed really nice when they came to look at spare rooms we had in Cardiff, but while one was a great housemate, the other one turned out to be a bit of a psycho. You can't always tell.

Morning All
On the house sharing thing, from my experience you want someone who's trustworthy when it comes to household bills and things like that. I was ripped off by a former housemate and it's incredibly stressful and upsetting.

Yeah, I had a similar experience around 2000-2003. I had the following:
Irish guy - dangerous psycho but very good sense of humour
Serbian guy - had some issues from the War and was struggling to find work here
Aussie country girl - out of control yobbette, no manners and very loud
Japanese girl - lovely person... but didn't talk too much

Good call there Lucky, in Ireland i reckon the equivelant is someone who calls themself "mad". They might be fun for in small doses, but it doesn't take long for them to grate on ya.

Also, no disrespect to relationships, but don't let a couple share your house if you can help it. I lived with a boy/girl couple and another girl in one house, and then the couple decided to split up very badly...The best house share I had was when i shared with four lads. It was great
