The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I think the Munster Scarlets has a nice ring to it. I think we'd get good money from that West Wales superclub as the word Scarlets will end up being synomous with winning rugby.

It's OK Dreamer for 'winning' see 'not risking losing' the Scarlets tag will never catch on over there.

You know that 'respectful silence' they go on about at Thomond Park? That's not respectful silence at all, it's just that everyone's fallen asleep. The ref blows his whistle and it wakes them all up.

Ah it will. Even when playing for Ireland, Munster players feel the need to wear red and get red in the face (see photo)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
are you going to do some of the 12 pubs of christmas with us Stag?
if you are, then you won't be on the beer for long.
each person has a pub where they pick a rule.
could be:
Irish drinks only.
cocktails
only drink with left hand
only drink through a straw
get involved

We can ALWAYS ask for more. Questions and asking are at the forefront of Munster success.
An opposition coach questions us, we get fired up. We ask more of our fans - we are still bringing in 25,000 fans for every HEC match. We question the ref. . . .we get away with murder.
Long may it continue.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ah hadn't done it before Micky. I am thinking of partaking - funds will be the only issue. 12 drinks = about €60
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag, that was aimed at the people taking us down a peg. Tis just jealousy. The day you/your team doesn't strive for perfection you know you're done.

Dreamer/Glas, do you think Scarlets see this game against Ulster as more of a distraction and that they have their focus on the HC back to backs against Munster. I get the impression from the website the only thing on their minds is
the game next week. They even have a countdown clock going on the home page.

Fitzgerald has played every match this season so was due a rest. If we empty our bench we pretty much have our best side on the pitch, which I fully expect us to do around the 60 min mark.

Question: are we all wearing Santa hats to the pub?
In December I always wear Santa hats to Munster matches.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I am happy with that Leinster team/squad to be honest. as Mickado said, we can pull from experience if we need to. and we might need to alright.
Rava, looking forward to seeing you again too pal.
I am heading straight in from work (the brother is dropping me and Eoin in) so I am hoping to be in the supporters bar about 7 and we can try catch that first half pal.
Think Mickado is as flexible as a russian gymnast due to him finishing early so I reckon it can be a good meeting point if you want to let the aul fella Gibbo know the POA.
Stag, you won't be up for the match sure you won't?

Yea the match is a non runner. We arrive in Heuston at 9.20 (will you be in Cassidys at that stage). Ideally we can dump a bag or two at Micks gaff and then Cassidys for celebrations of a Leinster win.

He said to me that we can meet up with him and fire the bags into his gaff, He said he lives 10 mins from Cassidys? How will it be 11pm
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
ah right. thought he was that bit further. away. but he knows his house so all gravy..
we will probably get a taxi after the game to cassidys so I would say we can drop him off somewhere or where ever is handiest and head on up from there..
Dying for tomorrow so. long tough week. few beers will be swell in good company

It's only 10/15 mins in a cab. Or a bus would take us the exact same route. Sure we can play it by beer.

I was once on a first date with a girl and she done the crab walk (you know where you lie on your back and go on all 4s?), epic. She wasn't Russian, but i was, soon after.

Any pub on Stapleton Road in Easton / Eastville is well worth a visit. A really nice, friendly, safe part of the city.

No I don't think we are. I think we'd much rather be able to play you with a full strenght side though as ideal preperation for the match agains Munster the week after. If you watch the interview with Nigel Davies and Jonathan Edwards, even though the interviewer keeps asking them about Munster, they are fully focused on Ulster first, talking about taking it all one day at a time. Think Nige raises a valid point about getting the players mentally prepared for it though, especially after we had such a big game against Saints. It was something we struggled with against the Dragons.
We have a countdown clock on our homepage and all the promotion stuff for the Munster match because it's for our next home game

Doesn't sound good at all does it?
Was reading a blog on it the other day on the Guardian website, looks like all the talk from idiot Cameron about them being the greenest government ever is a load of crap (but then we all knew that anyway).
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/dec/01/george-osborne-greener-bolder-alternative
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/nov/30/green-policies-blue-rinse-allegra-stratton?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487
These two articles are pretty interesting and pretty damning on Osbourne, can't find the link to the other one that really tore into him though! Will keep searching....
