The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

The Welsh are used to snoozing and resting through the Euros, you have never had any to be excited about!

Very tough group. Really wanted England but alas it was not to be. I still think we can go through but we won't unless Trap allows us to play with a bit more passion in these games. Three draws won't do anything.

ha aye I know, I have to make do with supporting the other British or Irish sides that qualify though Thomond, and they've not brought me much excitement either!

Munsty, you have seen Trap managed teams before right?
I wouldn't say passion is a huge problem they need a bit more freedom.

Okay, passion directed in the right way.
Dreamer,
If past tournaments are anything to go by, Ireland will never be the most aesthetically pleasing but we will be entertaining to watch purely for the drive and passion we put into the game as if we're fighting the whole world. Can't wait to see the green in the crowd.

I reckon Ireland will get through the group as runners up. Major help from the fixture schedule though as Spain play Italy first so the italians will most likely be starting with a loss, and therefore ideally playing catch up on Ireland. Yes I am jumping on the southern bandwagon what of it?!?!
If England don't come comfortably top of their group I imagine media hype and off the field scandals dug up through phone hacking will have had something to do with it.

Good point Munstry. I think the best Ireland match I saw a fair few years ago was against Spain actually, when Mick McCarthy was coach? think it was him anyway. That was a good one

Croatia are going to be really tough. Any team that can go to Turkey and win 3-0 are a side that need to be watched especially with a player of the quality of Modric running things.
Italy has to be a game we try win.
I will always believe Ireland can win every game but that faith will be severely tested with the Spain game. Maybe we need to watch the Swiss game from 2010 over and over again.

Got my first Christmas do of the year too Willy, going to be the first time I've worn heels in months. Trying to factor in how long it will take for me to fall over

Mick -
And righty heading off out, am annoyed it's raining outside, totally going to ruin my hair
Enjoy all the rugby that's on, good luck to Ulster, but Ymlaen Scarlets! Would be so amazing if we could extend our unbeaten run, however unlikely it is this evening.
And am just about to set up a new pub.
