First topic message reminder :

I said before that it would be a shame if Haye retired he still has so much to offer. Now it looks like Haye is back! Who will be behind him? I cant wait for this fight with Vitali I will be firmly supporting Haye. I think the British public should get behind him again we want a British heavyweight world champion dont we!? Haye will have learned from his last fight make no mistake about that and we all know he has the tools to beat Vitali who is old and slow now and far too easy to hit. My prediction? Haye to KO Vitali in round 6! Too much speed and power for Vitali and too much skill. I think Haye will bring an end to the Klichkos reign. Dont get me wrong, the Klichkos have been good champs but they are boring and have been ruining heavyweight boxing for far too long. Vitali should have stayed retired and let Wlad unify and Wlad should have retired after that the division would be so much better and the Klichkos reputation would be better. But I truly believe Haye is the man to do this now he is the most exciting heavyweight out there and has the charisma to get people back interested in boxing. I hope the British public and media realise this everyone deserves another chance and Haye deserves MASSIVE credit for coming back to take such a challenging fight. So in March who will you be supporting?? Will you be getting behind the Hayemaker again??

Az - get yourself down to a BJJ session - and when you leave - ask yourself - for every time you tapped out there - was that "quitting"?

I've tapped out once before in competition to a strangle. If I hadn't I'd have lost consciousness. I didn't see that as quitting. Or taking the easy way out. Hardly the "easy way" when I'm losing the blood supply to the brain. People have died before now from failing to tap out.

In competitive martial arts - you get caught by a strangle/armlock - you tap. Its not as simple as "quitting" or "easy options".

If you can't lift your arm, you can't really defend yourself. Boxing is a dangerous sport - especially when defenceless. Just ask Paret's widow what punching a defenceless boxer can do. Sure - he only had 6 minutes to defend - 6 minutes with 1 arm while being punched in the face.

Its an injury and its a fight-ending injury. I don't blame vit for his decision, nor do I call it quitting. It isn't different from tapping out in BJJ/Judo - and I doubt there's many out there who feel that tapping out = quitting.

I agree with the tapping out. Never done BJJ but have done judo for a while. I also understand that if you dont tap to a triangle you pass out. If you dont tap to an orm/ankle lock they will break and the fight ends there and then.

But Vit injured his shoulder. Tore his rotator cuff I believe. A dislocation is worse than that. Yes it is serious and impairs his movement. Did you see Danny Williams continue fighting with his arm dangling by his side? Did you see Audley fight with a useless right arm. They continued and found a way to win. I am of the opinion that Vit could have continued seeing that he was miles ahead and his opponent couldn't punch for his life. He had a choice and took the easier option. Is he a quitter in the worse possible sense. Not in my opinion. But he could have carried on.

Also lets not hear any more calls about how cowardly Audley is. He showed a greater set of minerals than Vit.

Wanted Haye to win last time round. Was sat out in a bar in Gran Canaria and they got extra teles, chairs and tables out the interest was massive, especially as it was a family resort and not an 18-30 type place.
On the next table was a German family and they was smug as hell, although seemed friendly enough, and it made me think, if Wlad was English how many people would be rooting (how american) for Haye. Not many in my opinion.
Will defo be wanting Vit by ko

Yes I am. If Haye fights in the same manner he did against Wlad, he'll lose. I believe he knows that anyway. Plus the extra factor is that Vit is very different to Wlad in terms of boxing skills. Haye will have more openings and be able to utilise his speed with Vit as opposed to Wlad. They have their similarities ie tall, jab, right cross. But Vit is markedly slower and Haye should be able to capitalise.

Going by his Audley 'fight' and Valuev fight it seasy to say he cant. Judging by his Wlad fight that may be even more definite. But that takes away from Wlad who has the beating of Haye no matter what.

Haye showed more adaptability at CW and its no great shakes for him to do somethng similar at HW.

He can and will. And he'll win. Simples. Cant wait for you all to crawl and apologise Very Happy

I think you are right mate. Some people dont like Haye so I think they can be harsh on him I am not sure they realise just how good Haye is. Maybe it is because he lost but it seems like many have turned against him after his loss to Wlad instead of getting behind him for his fight with Vitali. Would people stop supporting their team or country if they lost in another sport? I am not sure they would I hope this does not affect Haye. But I hope Haye realises that if he wins all of these people will get behind him again and be back on the Hayemaker Express for a rematch with Wlad!

Lots of fighters have lost but come back again and proved people wrong if they lose that does not mean I will stop supporting them I still supported Hatton after he lost to Mayweather and tbh I would still support him now if he fought again. Haye will prove people wrong by beating Vitali who as you say is too old and slow for Haye. Haye will learn from his mistakes against Wlad and knock out Vitali or Vitali will quit because he is taking too much punishment. He will change his tactics and have to much speed and power for Vitali. That is my prediction.

Haye never throw's consistently, he is alot shorter than Vitali after if it comes to become a hugging match Vitali will just throw him to the floor like Wlad did and sap his energy. If Vitali can take some of the shots Sanders and Lewis gave him i doubt there's much chance Haye can stop him, especially considering he throw's only the odd shot here and there.
