Chisora vs Helenius

Hello everyone,

Del Boy Chisora is going for the European title against Helenius tonight in Helsinki.

Whats your opinions on this one?Tough fight for Del Boy but I think the Helenius camp are underestimating Chisora.

Del Boy came in at a nice lean (for him) 243 whilst Helenius came in slightly lighter at 239.

I think Chisora is at a good weight for this one, and I think he has the power to give Helenius problems. He has no fear of fighting big guys, as he gave Fury problems in his only defeat plus he's beaten the taller Sam Sexton twice.

Helenius though is a terrific puncher. His record is padded though with former champions who have now gone well past their very best (Peter, Brewster and Liakovich).

Helenius' reach will be key. If he can keep Chisora off him and box him for twelve rounds then he should win easily. But if Chisora can get in and fight in his terms, getting the rough and tumble and landing some of those big hooks, then I think he can cause the upset. Chisora needs to make into a brawl to win. If Helenius boxes, he wins by late stoppage or wide UD.

TMWOJB prediction: I think Helenius likes a fight and will want to go toe to toe with Chisora. This will play into our mans hands and I think he'll win by surprise TKO in the mid-late rounds.

Agree with your other predictions, except Povetkin UD I think it'll be and Cotto UD.

Put a few quid on the Helenius stoppage.

Hope Helinius wins by ko/tko, would not want chisora stateside flying my flag.
Think margarito wins by stoppage round 9+

Other than a punch, I see nothing in Helen to worry Del Boy. I'm hoping Del wins.

Exactly as I see it except for the KO part. Del has a sturdy chin I reckon. He's as thick as two short planks and I reckon his skull is equally thick.

agree with that. but i wasnt impressed with helenius against liakhovich. if liakhovich hadnt gassed he could have won that one

Thanks for the link - really think this'll be a good 'un but if 'del boy' takes shots like he did against fury then I think he's a gonner. Helen can dig and fury didn't seem too bothered on the night!!

If Chisora turns up interested I think he wins, not been impressed with Helenius

I don't really give Chisora a chance in this. He's gonna get his head jabbed off for the first few rounds then he's going to start taking heavy shots. I see the ref jumping in at around the 8 mark with the fat angry slob still on his feet, but protesting despite having only thrown about 4 meaningful punches the whole fight.

Chisora has never shown anything to impress me other than the Sam Sexton fight or KO'ing a disinterested Danny Williams who had Mr Kipling and Ronald McDonald as his trainers.

If Helenius loses I will be VERY surprised.

I'm not writing Chisora off just yet. He's come in much decent shape than he did against fury, around 15lbs lighter! But whether he's able to apply some aptitude into his work when he's up against it remains to be seen.

Shame he doesn't have much interest in boxing as a sport, he has a reasonably decent chin and can put some combinations together.

interesting start to fight, Del Boy started fast, does he have the stamina?
