What is sad...
Is that we are discussing a melee rather than the actual game.
A game that was played at near test match intensity, with bruising scrums and some sublime skill. International quality front rows went head to head with no quarter given. The handling by Saints, especially Foden's give and take, for Ashton's try were amazing. Some of Floods breaks were fantastic - shame our support runners were not quite on the right wavelength. Oh and Slaters pass to Agulla!!! Many centres could learn from that how to make the most of an overlap by committing the defender then passing.
It was a great game to watch, a sell out crowd making a lot of noise and two teams who could still get into the playoffs.

It's the look of shock on the Saints players face when Slater steps back inside and holds the covering defence before giving the pass to Agulla. Sublime bit of play from the big man. Just wish we could find a way to utilise him more often as his hands, footwork and ball carrying strength are very good. He just doesn't seem to fit in either the backrow or the second row, he's sort of caught in between.

No arguements from me mate, that's why I started a seperate thread away from the Tigers V Saints thread to try and split the debates apart.
I thought it was one of the best league games I've ever watched and always enjoy our local derbys. The Agulla try was one of the best counter attack moves I've seen us do.

LondonTiger your fellow Tiger Metal Tiger was the one who brought the melee to everyone's attention.
I think both sides are likely to make the playoffs if you look at all the contenders.
You would expect Quins and Sarries to make the top 4 but other than them....

I still rate Mafi's chase and tap tackle as the best bit of the game, for all the world it looked like May was away then bam!
And what happened to the Saints scrum, it looked very average at times?

We had the better of them in the scrum in the semi final as well. Ayerza and Colastro are very good props.
Yeah Mafi's chase was good, but didn't that attack lead to a try any way eventually. Not to put Mafi down, but i suspect in the same position Croft would have got to May earlier and perhaps bundled him into touch.
