About twice as many as I probably should and about half the amount that I would really like to...

I only started keeping records from the start of the membership year (May)
May - 9
June - 7
July - 7
August - 8
September - 7
October - 10
November - 5
These were only at my home course but as mentioned on another thread I haven't had too many away days this year

I don't keep any records but I play a lot of 36 holers, use a lot of my holidays for golf and probably play 3 rounds a week on average during the summer. I would guess somewhere around 100-120 rounds a year.

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
At the year end I will have averaged 4 rounds per week. Probably too much, and even though once or twice I have arrived on the first tee without feeling really excited to be there overall I have really enjoyed my golf.
I started playing relatively late so maybe making up for lost time, but easily 200 rounds this year, 38 of them competition rounds.

About a dozen, very late start to our short season due to floods, then a shoulder injury trying to keep fit - half a dozen rounds stolen at the end of the (our) year.

Unless we go down south for the winter, puligny, 200 rounds is playing daily. And that ain't about to happen!

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
It is a lot - 30 of them in Arizona earlier this year. I know your winters don't allow year round golf, and we missed a bit over here this time. 200 is excessive but as I said earlier I was late starter so making up for lost time. It is less than the amount of squash I used to play!!!!!!

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
I'd guess somewhere about 120-ish with around 40-50 counting rounds. I live about 100 yards from my course though so often wander over for a few holes later on at night during the summer.

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
About 20 full 18 holes if I am lucky.
Try to get in a few holes late in the summer evenings so will hit the course a lot more just not for full rounds.

Tear yourself away from the school gates Mac and you could get more golf in.

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
Probably around 60 18 holers. Always say gonna fit in more but never seem to get round to it. With around 20 of the 60 being on courses other han my home course makes me wonder if renewing my membership is money well spent. Next year will make more of an effort

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
Every Saturday and Sunday, 104 rounds. I have 2 1/2 months holiday every year where I will play at least 4 rounds a week. So, I would say at least 130 rounds a year.. Some of them will be 27 and 36 holers..... That's quite a lot of golf when I think about it....

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
Probably played about 8 full rounds and maybe another 8 at a 9 holer.
Do the people who play twice every weekend not have families, or just not like them very much? I'd never get away with that even if I wanted to....which I sometimes do to be fair.

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
If you work normal hours, say roughly 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, that means you can only play on weekdays after the clocks change in march up until around the start of September.
That is around 120 working days plus weekends, basing this on around 22 weeks.
So are people really managing to play a full 18 on 50% of working days and both days of the weekend in the summer and then both days of the weekend in winter?
I have no kids and that would seem almost impossible. When you consider it is a nightmare to try and play on better tee times on a weekend if you do not play the comps I just cannot imagine getting anywhere near 50 let alone 100 18 hole rounds a year relying on weekday play.
If you managed to get to the course for 18:00 on a light evening, usually unlikely, you would not finish the round before 21:30. By the time you get home that will likely be after ten or much later. To do that more than once or twice a week just does not seem sustainable if you have other interests or responsibilities.
How do you guys do it?

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
It's very easy Mac, during the BST evenings it's easy to get in a couple of rounds a week after work, then at the weekend I'll play at least three times over the weekend.
Easily more than 50.
But then again, I'm not out chasing Wizardesses or getting on the course with a theodolite and level.

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
Easy done, but guess I was including how many times I played in my 100 estimate, so probably 50/50 with 50 'rounds' and 50 time where I will nip out for a 10 hole bounce game or something

Err just 2 rounds . No injuries just young kids... Played pretty well considering that, off 17 I shot a 94 and an 89.

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
I showed the split of my rounds into months so you could see how it was made up.
I don't think my stats look that unreachable bearing in mind the inclusion of golfing breaks and work society events, although I only work half-days on Fridays which obviously helps.
All my rounds are full 18-hole rounds.

I work and live in Thailand. Sushine everyday apart from the few days of rainy season. Even then you can still get 18 holes in. No such thing as tee times at most courses. Without fail I play every Sat and Sun. No family yet, my first arrives in 7 months so I am making the most of my free time!! I get 12 weeks holiday every year, in which I squeeze in a few more rounds...
That's how I do it.....

Re: How many rounds will you play in 2011?
Mac,
I assume your calculations for normal hours apply to people who work in the public sector? Not many people I know who can walk out of work at 5pm.
Having said that, I do agree with your logic, and I can't see how these people with families manage to get in 100+ rounds a year. As someone said earlier, let me in on the secret!
Maybe the answer is to live in Thailand, where you have sun all year round and can marry a ladyboy so you don't have to worry about her getting pregnant and interrupting your golf...

On holiday in Thailand, I had a close call and almost ended up sh*gging a Ladyboy. She looked like a woman, spoke like a woman, and I didn't suspect a thing until she drove me back to the hotel and reversed into a parking space first time.

That was my point, even in the best case scenario when you can leave at 5 there is little time left for 18 holes.
