The winner of the 1st leg in Cardiff will be?
Cardiff vs Edinburgh Discussion Thread
First topic message reminder :
Well my Welsh brothers and sisters it is nearly time for another Celtic Capital clash.
It sees a repeat of the first match of the Season for both clubs as Cardiff came to Edinburgh and convincingly hammered us in our own back yard. A few months later and things are a bit differant with Cardiff getting beaten by a truck load by Leinster. Whilst Edinburgh on the other hand mauled Aironi lst Friday and are sitting pretty at the top of the HC pool after hard fought wins against the Exiles and Racing Metro.
Taken in context it would seem Edinburgh are in the Ascendency however the last few meetings between the 2 teams have gone the way of the Welshmen, will Friday be any differant? Will the winner of the home and a way leg of these games go onto win the pool?

When you click on a game check you get the English commentry if possible unless you can speak a different language of course.

You can try the main page also, because that has other spots like football matches and american sports.

The mixed views on Parks are unsurprising, he's been dividing opinion up in Scotland for years.
Some aspects of his game can be absolute top class. When he's on song he's the forwards best friend because he controls territory and ensures that every single drop of sweat is rewarded with 3 points. However, he will never be a world beater with ball in hand. His instinct is always to kick first and pass second and has no running game himself.
Typical that he played well against Edinburgh.....
What is absolutely clear to me is that Cardiff will enjoy considerably more success with Parks at 10 than with Sweeney.

Are you saying the Blues never bother with the Pro12 - Its odd since its most of their season and the basis for which they earn their place for their region and internationally.
No, but the league is bottom of the priority list as far as I can tell.
Securing HEC qualification comes first as was mentioned by one of the chuckle bros earlier on in the season, then the next is a HEC qf spot. There is no money to be had winning the lottery league and if you asked any player what he would want to win at club level, all would say the HEC.
The end of last season was particulary disappointing against Welsh opposition especially when it looked as if we would easily make the play offs. What followed was a dire 21 all draw against the O's, a loss against Newport GD and a hopeless display against Llanelli Scarlets as if they couldn't give a monkeys. That's my view which has been the same for many a year and i'm yet to be convinced otherwise.

Re: Cardiff vs Edinburgh Discussion Thread
Parks contract is up at the end of this year and i reckon he'll get a 1 year extension. Sweeney will be released (although this might not happen as he has a year left on his contract) but i feel we will see a few younger 10's getting their chances.
I know he's not particularly young, but Gareth Davies at Cardiff is a cracking player. He's played once or twice this year and did well when played last year, i think maybe you just gotta give him a shot and see what he can do.
