Random Factor... Like A Tractor

Random factor, like a tractor...

Hello. Following its roaring success on the old 606 (winner of six Luckies*) I thought I'd provide a space on 606v2 for you to post any irrelevant little things you fancy sharing.
I'll start: I've always had trouble with the line 'Love grows where my Rosemary goes.' If they'd chosen another name like Anne or Susan there'd be no problem, but rosemary's a herb so it could be 'Love goes where my rosemary grows.'

Having a handjob with yer left hand and with your right hand in a sling. Its like a having a whole new inner-relationship. If you put yer mind and your left-hand, right down to it. Its a virtual GF

Re: Random Factor... Like A Tractor
There was something on the box the other day about a study on aggressive behaviour. The gist of the experiment was that aggression could be reduced by 'forcing the subject' to do an everyday act using the opposite hand/arm, etc. (OK, they were talking about door handles and use of the mouse on the computer but the results were interesting.)
They then got someone to 'have a go' and verbally abuse the subjects and the ones who were forced to use the opposite hand coped the best and reacted less aggressively. They had become "more rounded characters" apparently... better able to cope with stress!
Apparently, you're using the opposite side of the brain (tick) and developing new neurone? connections to do a particular task with the other side of you. (tick)
Had a similar thing occur to me years ago when I had this persistent thigh injury (no treatment except for some deep heat) and I learned to kick using my right leg. Normally left footed. At first, I could manage only what felt like about 40% power on the right leg but after a few weeks this steadily increased. In the end I'm sure I was over 90%... maybe even more.
It was a physical and psychological thing. At first it feels so unnatural and awkward, then after a while you feel as though you have special powers. I can still give the pill a good heave with my right foot and since I broke my left leg about 5 years ago and had to work on building the strength on that peg back up to it's maximum potential I found that the 'connections' were still there (on my right leg) after about 25 years.

No British footballer with any self-respect would work on improving his other foot. We'll leave that to the continentals, who win things.

I'm sure Bingo Jazzhands would consider it and maybe Willy and the 4skins... but you're right lucky - it's out of most people's comfort zones.

I remember seeing a butcher's van on which 'purveyor' was spelt 'pervayer.' It's quite a feat to misspell one word in three different ways.

Kath reminds me of our Prime Minister who once said "hyper-bowl" whilst trying to pronounce "hyperbole" and let's not forget her favourite word: "Neg-go-she-ate!"

Do you ever get that when you're half way through eating a horse and you think to yourself, 'I'm not as hungry as I thought I was'

Yes, had a similar thing happen with a giant squid today.... just wasn't as hungry as I thought I was.
Must have been all those anchovies I had for entrée.

I do. It's usually at that point that I feel some remorse for not having the horse killed before I started.
