What position are you mostly recognised for playing in?
606v2 Player Demographic Study
Just jumping on the back of the 606v2 Team post earlier.
Thought it might be interesting to just take a poll on what is the most common position played (or not) for the contributors on this forum.
I get the impression (wrongly or rightly) that there are a lot more Props on here then any other position and we are by far the most witty, intelligent and balanced gentlemen of all the posters

Spent most of my time 2nd centre or on the wing but have played everywhere from SH to Fullback.
Really should change my name to Caoimhinutilityback

I'm a girl
Pfft that is no excuse. My ex-wife was a hooker.
Honest, until work life got in the way of training she was in the front rowfor Sarries ladies (though she played back row for England Students)

Re: 606v2 Player Demographic Study
Loosehead prop.
The most important position on the field.
That is why we get the NO 1 jumper.
We have to assist the hooker in the scrum, we have to keep the scrum up when 800+ kilos thries to put you on your knees.
We must lift lazy jumpers in the lineouts, these guys weigh more than 100 kg's
We must protect our lineouts with putting our bodies on the line.
When defences are tight we are the battering rams.
People expect us to go those extra yards with 3 backline players on our backs.
And when all is said and done and everyone has a beer in the pub afterwards, we have the responsibility to make sure the bloody flyhalf isn't injured in any way during a bar brawl.

It doesn't say anywhere that the ladies can't choose what position they played.
My youngest daughter plays... pretty good standard too at all england divisional level.

No scrum halves as of yet. Strange because they are normally the loud opinionated ones!

Speak of the devil, and lo he doth appear...
Played scrum half for four years, then after a year out injured, I came back too short and too light - so I moved to full back.
Still too short and thin, so I play sevens now.

LOUD NOISES!
Cough...
I'm a scrumhalf and during my matches I guess I'd be something of a scrumhalf cum referree.
Started playing at 15 then moved to wing all in my 1st year. Been a 9 for the last year and a half and am still learning a lot, it's got a lot of pressure on it but it's fun not standing on the wing on cold days and being in the heart of the action, you begin to appreciate good refs more though

Re: 606v2 Player Demographic Study
Suprised that there's not more No8's, Centres or Flyhalfs here.
I played as a prop when I was a kid, but after my growth spurt I changed to football (shocking I know) and only really got back into the game im 20's but when I occasionally play now (not much am much too unfit) I play lock as I'm a big beefy 6ft 4. To be honest I've watched more rugby that I've played though

Was a blindside but after repeated injuries (mostly from work not the rugby!) had to retire to the sidelines.

Erm... kind of a 10/12/13 depending on what the 'plan' is (or who else has turned up). Though in a manner similar to Pete I sometimes double as a referee, because I'm standing further out the ref assumes it's one of the three (on average) spectators.
Pfft, you're doing it wrong. You fight on the pitch not in the pub, don't want to be spilling precious beer. Spilling beer warrants a prompt kangaroo court and liquid punishment!

Me too, but it should have been there instead of 9-15 as that describes them too!

Hooker or TH but can play loose at times. Played for a club before uni and now play for the medics team in the uni interfac... Prefer TH to be honest, just that bit more technical and more of a challenge!

Edit: also possible to change to " could'nt catch a dose off the local bike let alown the bloody ball"

Re: 606v2 Player Demographic Study
I started in the second row, moved to flanker, then carried on to full back.
Loved to tackle people, and good under the high ball and could make mini breaks.
If only I was faster, better and more focused - I could have gone far - especially if the better bit came true
Now injured, old and out of breath -

Lots of girly wingers here, apparently.
I would have thought that their limp wrists wouldn't be able to withstand much typing.
