Sergio Martinez vs. Felix Sturm: who wins?
Following another good performance last night, if Martinez was to fight the recognised no.1 contender in the division in Felix Sturm next - who wins?
Following wins over Dzinziruk, Williams, Pavlik and Cintron, could Martinez beat Sturm?

Couldn't see anything other than a fairly decisive points win or a late stoppage for Martinez in this one if it happens. Sturm's no risk, low-key style means he'd probably avoid an early flattening like the one Williams got, but he has limited power at world level and, quite frankly, just doesn't have the tools to outbox Martinez either. So, unless Martinez ages drastically overnight, there's no possible way that Sturm can win.
Sturm will be hanging that lumbering jab of his out to dry all night, and Martinez's counter-punching is exactly what would undo that. Sturm simply hasn't mixed it with the sort of quality that's going to prepare him for someone like Martinez who is in the form of his life, and I think the Argentine gives him a bit of a lesson to be honest, game though Sturm is.

Static, without much movement - is pretty much tailor made for Martinez. Similarly to Dzinziruk, Sturm does most of his boxing with the jab. Martinez has negated some of the best jabs in the business in his recent perofmances, I don't see jabbing as the key to defeating Martinez. If anything Dzinziruk is quicker than Sturm and probably a more proficient boxer. Can't see him fairing much better. The ability of Martinez to select power shots and combos is outstanding, not sure if anyone at MW beats him at the moment.
