Duncan Wier. He has been the most consistent, and hasn't had to share the no.10 duty with anyone else really. I don't think anyone can argue with that. It is a tight contest though.

Unless David Humhreys is actually still playing then its Jonny Sexton imo.
Ronan O'Gara is a legend and a fair shout too and Priestland has huge potential.
Theres some fantastic 10's in the rabo.

Edinburgh have two, even the Italians have good 10s. I didn't opt for Priestland, O'Gara or Sexton because they had been rested for most league games this far into the season. I think Weir is fab, to think he was once considered back-up to Jackson.

At least Humphreys has played a few games (8) in the Rabo. Sexton & O'Gara have had two starts (out of a possible 10) in the Rabo this year. A bit early in the Rabbo season to be claiming they are the best.
For the record, ROG made the Magners Dream time last year as the 10.

You include Jordan Williams and Aled Thomas, but exclude 2 time Lions starting 10 - Stephen Jones, how strange.
IMO, on current form its a tie between Sexton and Preistland - overall, Sexton for last years HC final.

Since I know you’re such a fan of statistics:
O’Gara – 173 mins played – 35 points scored
Sexton – 176 mins played – 48 points scored
Sexton’s points per minute rate is 25% better. I think that’s definitive. You might as well close down this thread.

I concur, Stephen Jones is a fantastic player and should be on here. He's definitely not the best 10 on current form but deserves a mention. Along with ROG the best B&I 10 of his generation.
Sin Ihumph was one of the best 10's in the league last season for sure but has been pretty poor this year so far. Maybe you could post his no of unforced errors per minutes played stats

Has Rhys Priestland even played at ten for the Scarlets in the Rabo this season?

Re: Who is the Best Flyhalf in the Rabo
David Humph in his prime would have been up there with the best, I thought he was a great player, he kept ROG out of the Ireland team and then had a swap about for a while, H-cup winning captain.
Thats why I voted for him.
If you ment Ian Humph well thats a different story.

Re: Who is the Best Flyhalf in the Rabo
in a serious note I think you can say the best are Sexton, RoG, Jones and Priestland, but Weir can add his name to that list.
I hear th eItalian outhalfs are suossed to be good but don't really see enough of them anyone want to rate them on a scale of 1-10.
9-10 being the players above skill level
1 being Ian Humph on a bad day, skill level.

Think Priestland has played 50mins for the Scarlets at 10 this year and 30mins at FB.

Okay, so the question we're being asked is 'who is the best ten who plays in the Rabo,' rather than 'which ten has played the best in the Rabo this season.'

Re: Who is the Best Flyhalf in the Rabo
Yup, I don't think we'll see much from any of the internationals in the Rabo this season, what with getting over the WC, the extra Wales game, the 6N and then recuperating from that, and then that gives the players a nice 2 months to get used to the clubs tactics at the end of a grulleing 12 months of continuous rugby before being rested in preperation for the summer tours...
All fun

Re: Who is the Best Flyhalf in the Rabo
Don't think Priestland - O'Gara - Sexton have enough minutes in the league this season to be 'best flyhalf in the Rabo'. I've gone for Madigan (home town decision) as he has impressed me this season and not been outshone by his opponents in any game.
If you take it as what the player has achieved in his career - O'Gara
If you take it as what the player has done in the last year for his team - Sexton
If you take it as what the player has done at international level in the last year - probably Priestland for the RWC showings
But this year in the Rabo it is possibly Weir, but I'm putting a vote in for Madigan to give him an honourable mention.

Indeed which Is why I went for O Gara. Sexton, Preistland and Weir may turnout to be better but ROG has done it

But SJ was selected for the Lions 10 - so surely Stephen Jones has been there and done that - ROG may have won a HC, but he has never played in a World Cup SF or not ruined a Lions tour.

He’s actually won 2 HC’s and he’s also won just as many World cup semi finals as any Welsh player.
And in 2001 and 2005 he didn’t ruin a Lions tour.
I picked Sexton by the way.

Re: Who is the Best Flyhalf in the Rabo
I think the question and the list of suspects is enough in itself to highlight just how diverse a group of people flyhalves are. Yes, yes, yes, the general consensus is that it is a job with definitions and you have to fit the profile to fit the bill. I say...well, rubbish.
Flyhalves are an erratic bunch that can be so different from each other in style and the priority they give to each aspect of their work but that's also why it is such a high profile, highly media obsessed, highly competitive, highly charged position. Flyhalves don't so much look for a place on a team as much as articulate a team style. Question is which style does the team want to play and then which flyhalf is good enough to paint it.

Based on Rabo Direct games this season, it is someone who is not on your list. In the games against Dragons and Ulster (first half in particular) Steve Jones carried a very inexperienced Scarlets team. He was absolutely superb, he has also just won the 10 jersey back off the hero of the World Cup.
So if he was on the list thats who I would vote for.
