I'm shooting a boxing film
Not to go into too much detail in such early stages I've very kindly been granted access to film inside Gallagher's Gym in Manchester.
This short film/documentary will have a Fight Camp 360 style to it.
My question to you 606ers, what would you like to see from a short film of this nature? I'm going in the gym filming training and road work, showing the dedication these guys have and hopefully getting them a little bit more publicity along the way as boxing is going more and more down the PPV / satellite route. It'll be going online on the usual routes youtube/vimeo/film makers websites, and I want boxing websites to feature it as they sometimes do with certain videos.
This footage will be cut with interviews of the fighters who train there and Joe himself.
Most of the boxing videos online are of poor quality and the best ones are reserved for the very top guys - the marquez / mannys / mayweathers and super 6 fighters etc. This one will be done properly.
Please no silly or childish remarks - I'm serious and will consider putting the good recommendations into the film.
Cheers.

When its finished, we can upload it to the 606v2 youtube channel if you like
good luck with it.
good luck with it.
Re: I'm shooting a boxing film
i like to see the training methods used, don't think 24/7 or 360 show enough. also obviously like to see boxers spa with each other who may one day be against each other in the ring.

Re: I'm shooting a boxing film
First of all, congratulations, sounds like a great opportunity.
I'd quite like to see some footage of Joe and his fighters working on some technical aspects. We often see the fitness based training, but it'd be nice to see them carrying out some defensive work for example, and likewise some of the sparring between gym mates would be excellent, if they'll allow you to film that.

Would love to see a couple of things like the fighters doing the circuit training and just showing how hard it is showing a bit of sparring and talking about what the most difficult aspects of boxing are.

Re: I'm shooting a boxing film
Thanks again for the input everyone.
Im coming it at it in 2 ways, one as a film maker and two as a boxing fan.
Hopefully it'll give a genuine insight into their training habits and also look nice at the same time. i like to think ive got a creative eye. it'll be pretty much like the froch GQ video someone posted, but with more training and more 'real life' input. the froch video was good but we've heard it before.
on a slight boxing theme:
i directed, edited and co shot this online web promo for question of sport: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWDevE_vMSQ
its obviously a lock stock homage.

Its good to hear this, I would like to see the science or technical side of boxing highlighted because there are some who just see two men knocking seven bells out of each other.

Re: I'm shooting a boxing film
It would be good to see a brief outline of a typical days training, which isn't normally clear in the 24/7's.
Also, it's nice to see them having a laugh between training and maybe showing how they wind down after training.

Sounds like a great oppurtunity mate!
The technical side of boxing is always overlooked - how different styles are suited to each other, which punch beats another etc. Some good sparring videos/stories.
Also if you can get some Harry Greb footage in their - that will be a bonus
