The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the wedding pictures of Father Christmas, Sean Lamont and Paddy Wallace above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I had a touch of work last night, a corporate invitation to the Cabbage Patch for Quins vs Sarries. Luckily got the work bit done before the first points.
I am looking forward to this weekends Derby games. May well be down in Cornwall for NYE and was hoping to catch the Pirates play but unfortunately they are away on Sunday. May have to head home early with a sore head and make the Liberty to see the Ospreys vs Blues game...!

Morning all
I'm in work we're about 1/4 staffed. Just clearing the decks and prepping stuff for next year.
Dunno if the Welsh/Scarlets fans have seen it, but George North was reported in The Rugby Paper yesterday as wanting to stay in Wales with the Scarlets at the moment. He hasn’t ruled out a move abroad (France) later in his career though. He also understands why so many Welsh players have made the move to France, and why others and will do the same.

Georgie shouldn't leave us for a while Hound, he signed a 3 year extension on his contract last season so he should be safe with us for now (hope so anyways!)
And afternoon all, hope you've all had a wonderful time over Christmas. I've absolutely loved it this year, and the Scarlets got a win for me too, so I'm one happy Dreamer.
Heading off to Carmarthen in a bit to get a train back to the Diff for work tomorrow and Fri, but then I'll be straight back home again for New Years. I blydi welllove this time of year
Also a for Rev, for whenever he pops his head around the door again.

Yeah - Seasons Greetings to Rev and his colleagues
Dreamer- I think North was just reconfirming things then, after all the high profile departures, and rumoured departures across the Channel (not the Bristol one )
It looks like a full days work for us each day this week.

Ola regs. Hope all are well.
Just saw my son and his other half, off on a 2 month trip around Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Lucky feckers. What a dream trip. While his aul Da suffers a grey, cold, wet miserable winter.
Gotta get away for a few weeks. Need to go diving and talk to the fish.

I asked a few friends that recently, and got told PS3 by most - personally no idea.
Per my comment on the 2 Xmases in one year vote thread MrsP, how are the plans for 2nd Xmas coming along?

If I was about to have another Christmas just now it would actually be our 3rd this year and that would definately be extracting the Michael!
MrP's B'day tomoz so I suppose ...
You might be able to have a wild guess at what his pressie might be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It's just come to my attention that ex-Wallaby and now Sydney Morning Herald journalist Peter Fitzsimons made the Guinness Book of Records after being interviewed live on a radio station in Sydney for 24 hours, doubling the previous world record for longest live radio interview.
Starting last Sunday at 10am, Richard Glover did indeed start to interview me on ABC Digital Radio. We did indeed go for 24 hours straight and, as planned, got ourselves into Guinness World Records. Why was the previous record of just 12 hours, 30 minutes so soft? I think it is because there are certain preconditions to go for such a record that are not easily met. You need an interviewer and a subject who are substantial enough to sustain an interview for that long, with enough subjects to fill it, while still being shallow enough to want to be in Guinness World Records in the first place. And you need a broadcaster not so worried about ratings that they are happy to put it to air. Thunderbirds are go! And in the end, it really was surprisingly easy. If there is a better drug than talking into an open microphone about ''Me, my life and what I think about things,'' to an interviewer who is obliged to say at regular intervals, ''That really is fascinating, please do tell me more,'' then I don't know what it is. After a full day of it, I felt as if I had barely cleared my throat.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Actually we have celebrated our "proper" Christmas in January for a few years in a row now but the kids had forgotten that when I brought up the whole "Potentially Devastating Anomaly" thing!
We have been away for the last 3 or 4 Christmases (or 5 if you count the doubles) and so we have our pressies on a day after we have got home and Santa's little helpers have got the washing done and the pressies wrapped. the kids were saying it was strange this year knowing exactly which day to expect Santa to pay us a visit!

Actually 2 festive B'days as middleP's is just before Christmas.
I think this was the first year she has ever had to go to school on her B'day!
And, just for the record, you are the left-footers!
So.... What were you wanting to talk to us fishes about then?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
MrsP, the PS3 is better. It has a blu-ray player to watch high definition DVDs and Blu-ray discs aswell as HD gaming. I have an Xbox too( I got it for €25 and while I don't use it really, haven't played it since August, it was dead cheap ) and it has its advantages such as the kinect and the controller but the PS3 is way better in my opinion. The PSN store is also easier to use than Xbox live Marketplace.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Thanks lads.
It's amazing what you learn on here!
I have never even seen either of these things in the flesh but I seem to remember you lads chatting one time about them and someone said the XBox was really good for gaming but the PS3 was better all around.
I repeated this to the hubby earlier and the look on his face was a picture!!
I had to confess that I was merely repeating what I thought I had heard on here but I wanted to check as I could very easily have got them the wrong way round!
PS3 it is then.
There should be a couple of very happy lads in our house sometime over the next couple of days!

Doh Glas!
Get with the program!!!
It's an expression first used by Shakespear in his Sonnet 112.
It was then taken up by Basketball players.
It means: My mistake.

Hi all,
Had a top Christmas watching loadsa great family movies - Home Alone, Gremlins, Muppets Christmas Carol, The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka etc.
In a bit of shoite mood today, someone gave me an honest opinion about something that has left me quite miffed. Shiite buzz.
Also, MrsP I was playing PS3 earlier and I played a user called Poissonrouge79?? Any ideas?

Yea it is MrsP. Just its a real bummer when its not what you want to hear. Not at all in fact. I don't really want to dwell on it to much to be honest. It'll just make me unhappy.

Stag, how are you? Missed your incitefullness on here pal. Your point about the Scarlets could not have been more apt for the Stephen's day match. I was as isolated as Subsbench was in the Munster match. The Osprey fans were a pale imitation of the Munster lot though.
