Agree with Steyn, Boks have better options in Lambie etc.

Can't imagine Matfield coming back

Yeah, average player you're right. All SA teams had an average or below par in the S15.

Not long until the new season starts though!

I like your team driver. I think it's a shame that SA haven't developed a top class or decent TH, JdP is good but nothing special. You can only imagine if someone like Castro was actually a Saffer!

IMO Pienaar is one of the SH's around at the minute. Okay Genia et al aren't playing in the S15 but the stuff Ruan is doing for Ulster is top class. I'd also maybe consider Sarel Pretorious for SA SH but depends how well he does this season.

Pretorious gone to Oz to replace Burgess. Would be interesting to see if that is considered overseas? Can't think of a NZ/SA/OZ player playing for their national side and in the S15, but not the home country. Suggestions anyone?

Isnt he at the Brumbies or something this year? Be interesting to see how he goes over there. Boks are well sorted at scrum half though with the likes of Pieneer, Pretorious, Duvenhage, Houghard, Kockett, Vermakk etc. Id say the All Blacks would love to have some of those lads on their books as SH is the one position they arent great with

If only Rowley was here, this would be a perfect chance for him to tell us that Alby Mathewson is a WC SH for the kiwis! I'm a big fan of both Weepu and Cowan to be honest.

If you fancy a laugh, youtube Piri Weepu dancing, the guy is a legend. When i was at the WC Final victory parade, he was hammered, got of his wagon, dancing down the street, it was hilarious!

Not a fan of Cowan. Think Weepu is a class act but would have him a fair way down the list of worlds best scrummies which isnt the case for the All Blacks in most other positions. Some decent young fellas coming through though for them.

Anyone seen that Kaino is likely off to Ulster next year. Seems he fancies a year or two abroad and Ulster are favourites at the moment. Brad Thorn is rumoured to be getting a short term deal at Leinster as well for the rest of the season

Ferris clears the ruck as well as any body but wouldnt rate him for turning over ball. Its an area SOB is criminally under rated in. Hes always snatching 3 or 4 balls a game and yet no one seems to rate him there at all

I never get that johnny, people obviously don't watch him if they think he's poor on the deck, he's much better than Ferris.

Ferris is an absolute beast, I was tempted to go for him on here but his knee is such a worry.

Irelands backrow options are just crazy, none of Englands EPS picks would get near the Ireland squad.

Personally I think when you get to the level of Kaino, Ferris, Broussow, the number on the back becomes less important, yes you need balance.

Kaino going to Ulster is a huge surprise, just when he is in prime form, I suppose with the Lions in Oz and the WC won, it a relatively 'quiet' time.

SOB is better for poaching the ball but Ferris is the man you want clearing out the ruck. Think they bring a great balance to the Irish backrow. Would have the Irish backrow up there as possibly the best in the world.

Yeah thats the thinking Bathite. Looks like he wants a year or two up here to see the culture pick up a nice earner and then go home and be in contention for the All Blacks at the next world cup

The 'Rocky Elsom' path rather than the approach that Nick Evans or Dan Carter used on their NH travels.

Hope Bath manage to tempt one of them on a similar deal. Mealamu would be nice and attainable I reckon.

Preistland ahead of Sexton? Jones and Jenkins still in the front row for me, definately in the squad and SOB ahead of Brown, especially considering fleixbility.

Attwood in the Lions! Interesting

Priestland is a good front foot player but doesnt offer much on the back foot to be honest. Not alot in it between him and Flood to be honest but Sexton is a fair bit ahead of them for me now.

Earls is a winger for me. Fantastic finisher. He can play 13 but would much prefer to see him out wide. I know Kidney is likely to go with him in the 6 nations but dont agree with it. O'Malley/Spence etc should be giving a look in.

Agree on Toner. Very subtle hands for a big man. Has really come on this year himself and Donnacha Ryan would make a cracking combo for Ireland in a few years if they keep going

Disagree, I'd have Parling ahead and possibly Garvey too. Different types of locks but better players imo. I like Attwood but he needs to add a bit of grunt instead of hanging out on the wing, great hands for a lock though.

Parling is a good shout, knew I had forgotten one, but Garvey has had one standout season and not nearly as much experience, not even Saxons, so it's impossible to tell until he transfers it to the next stage. Its very exciting having all these form young players in the EPS, the first few 6Ns games well tell if they are going to benefit hugely and blossom like Ben Youngs or panic like Matthew Tait in an England shirt. No way of telling if they can make the step up.

Strangely, I would say Attwood's hands are one thing that has frustrated me about him this year. It's his grunt work with Caldwell that has been a real positive for us this season.

I've seen him do some lovely things, offloading and takes etc.

See what your saying but Attwood was pretty awful last year for Gloucester, really slipped down. Garvey has had a steady climb just this is the first year he's really been hyped up. Close call but I like the look of Garvey, he was outstanding away to Metro and this is a higher test of abilty than the Saxons imo.

Attwood had a bad end to the season, injuries, bans, contract renewals, knowing he was leaving can't have helped.

A campaign with the Saxons is invaluable, as shown by the players they have selected in it and by giving the coaches the main squad job.

Anyone can have a cracking one off game, although a solid season for Quins, so thats not fair and behind a very average scrummaging front row.

Earls shouldn't play 13 for Ireland but unfortunatley will (and is miles away from a Lions spot atm). Its a shame that, Cave and Spence are both at Ulster. Cave would be shoe in for the Ireland 13 if fit, after his early season form, and Spence is a very good youngster who needs gametime at 13, He's not a 12, but due to lack of 12's thats where he is for the Wolfhounds.

SOB is for me at best when at no 8, but he can play all 3 backrow positions so well, its just a shame he won't be given a number of games at 8 to get his work at the back of the scrum right.

For me Ferris is up there as the 2nd best 6 in world rugby (behind a fit j smith and equal to Kaino). Look at the difference between the Ireland team with him and without him (bearing in mind we still fielded a backrow of 6.SOB 7.Wallace 8.Heaslip 20.Leamy/Jennings). Its a shame he has such injury trouble.

As for Garvey - top player. Should be in the EPS, and should be ahead of Attwood atleast. Yes he's a young player but the way he carries himself i'd say he's unlikely to be flustered, but i suppose this can be deceiving.

The concensus about Caldwell is that he never really did it for Ulster consistently enough. The Leinster fans who want him back are probably over reacting, and mentioning Caldwell for the fact he is Irish and there has been an effort to get Irish players back to Ireland recently. He has been ok for Bath, but would look out of place as a starter for Leinster.

Caldwell has been mentioned as a potential target because of the new NIQ rules coming in 2013/2014. Havent seen many Leinster lads who want it though. Hes seen as a bit of a loose cannon after his time at Ulster. Think Leinster might pick up one of the young Munster locks

I am back, and ready to talk and behave.

I see some of you have mentioned my name in the past couple of weeks, I knew some of you would miss me, especially Pooly and Bathite.

Even though I was a t**t some of you deep down loved me and my banter, I just felt I had to come back and speak to you guys about Rugby, as I see Bathite wished I was here to talk about Alby.

I am here now, I am back ready to make friends, I don't want to play, I don't want to cause any nuisance.

Im here to talk Rugby and have fun with my old 606 buddies.

MY USERNAME IS THE MOST LEGENDARY NAME ON THE WHOLE OF 606V2 notworthy

Oh and Pooly randy randy randy
