Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Slade was understudy but with Cruden playing first choice at Chiefs and Slade being average at best I believe you will see the later as the 2nd choice 10. People in NZ wanted Cruden as back up before the injuries took hold and from the performances of both you can see why.
Sgt Moron, I sense you comment is somewhat sarcastic. I will coach these boys to greatness you will see!!!

Cruden would have been my next target had I stayed on. Will be a good signing for Maj.

Interesting bid Flux, I've got him on other AP game. Amazing attacking talent, shame we'll never see him for the Boks

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
For me one of the most underrated players in world rugby, just continually impressed ever since I saw him play against the Lions in 2009.
Never say never, I reckon RSA will come calling at some point.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
I think Hougaard and Pienaar will be ahead of him to be honest. Will be very surprised if Hougaard doesna't start at 9 in the Boks next test match (barring injury or horrendous loss of form).

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
I would think so, but the thing is if Pretorious played like he did against the Brumbies and even if his form gets better, you couldn't avoid not picking him.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
If he picks Pienaar and Steyn, then there is a strong argument to pick Sarel, if form continues of course. He'll get good exposure if he plays well when he goes to SA in the SUper season

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Meyer is a pragmatist and will go with players that knows well and he knows will be able to work his gameplan.
Gaving come from the Bulls, expect to see a heavy Bulls presence in the squad.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
I'm a big fan.
All depends what kind of game plan the Boks are going to utalise. I see Pretorious as pure pace and attacking threat around the fringes, ideal on the hard pitches.
Pienaar is a steady grinding scrum half, good tactically and a great boot.
Hougaard is somewhat in between, don't think he offers the tracking and attacking threat of Pretorious but he's not far off and has a decent boot.
I personally think Pretorious is too attack minded for the Boks and they'll revert to FdP. Not sure Pienaar will get back in, he's been dire the last few Int outings he's played.
They also seem to like Macleod for some reason, don't see it myself.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Pienaar has looked out of sorts for RSA, but I think it was because he was being copped and changed from many positions. Now he's settled in a SH for Ulster he is showing some real form.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
I love Pretorious's running game so good to watch but your fringe defence better be rock solid Flux. Think he was top 3 for missed tackles last year with Cips and Ashley Johnson.
On last years form he deserved a crack at the Boks but with Houghard coming through now and Pieneer in such great form he will find it so hard. Meyer is a fan of Duvenhage as well so expect to see him around a bit as well I'd say

I have to look at where I am a bit lacking, most likely a back as my pack is pretty competitive right now.

I've got the same dilemna.. it's obvious I need a TH but is there the class out there? May just go for a name and try and hustle a deal..

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Why can't you go for a name in a position you need?
I'm really struggling to think of top top THs that would make people sit up and notice. Ben Franks was the best I could think of, maybe Poux or big Cencus? About time the SAs had a monster TH in my book.
Ozzy, definitely a midfield maestro or 9 I reckon.

Yeah, am mulling over a couple of 9's and 13's, tough to choose though, as never sure how others will rate people.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Think you need someone to smash you over the gainline at 13 and a renowned finisher and is French and plays for Clermount.....

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Depends what position Bathite. If you need a TH for example there's few left so would you be better off going for a big name and trading with me
Ben Franks isn't a great TH, suffers at Int level. More a LH. Poux is also a LH who covers ok at TH

That's it, there isn't the quality at 3 to make people notice in predictions so I might as well go for a star. No point in spending £20 mil for an average prop.

Oh, I get your point now Pooly. That's why I went for Owen, only him and Mas in foreigns that are top class in my book.

Not sure I need someone to smash over the gainline at 13 driver, I have Naqa doing that at 12, was considering more a playmaker type of 13 tbh.

Other THs will certainly make improvements, but would it be better to get someone like Jane, Heaslip, POC to make a huge difference elsewhere for a few extra million?

Cooper?
Thing is Conrad is 31?? I can see Kahui having his spot within the year. One of my fav players though, never has a bad game.
Horne/Kahui/JDJ?
