The total adds up to 207, so quite a lot of them must be wrong.

Merry Christmas bilton, Doon, everyone.
Yup, but only 2 x USA out of the last nine Majors.
Which trend will continue?

Bah humbug. All this season of goodwill is over rated if you ask me. Happy Christmas.

Re: A christmas trivia
Now I know this is really geeky, but I have a spreadsheet with the name of every male major winner since the year dot. So here are the actual figures from 1962 to 2011 inc (200 majors):
USA 135
South Africa 15
Australia 9
England 8
Spain 7
Fiji 3
Germany 3
Zimbabwe 3
Argentina 3
Northern Ireland 3
Ireland 3
Scotland 3
New Zealand 2
Canada 1
Korea 1
Wales 1
Of course if you add the British winners (Eng, Sco, Wal & NI) we leap up to joint second place with 15.

I thought it was quite interesting to see how the numbers compare. Didn't waste my time. I wish people would stop posting negative comments and appearing to speak for "everyone".

Although not 100% accurate when 1st posted,at least this new/rare poster to golf boards made an effort just to be shot down by some. It was quickly rectified by golfermartin.

I had the same problem when i posted on 606, an arrogant, opinionated clown believing his own hype every morning when he looks in the mirror.
Hence I will once again refrain from posting on the golf forum.
The point of the article although not entirely accurate does enlighten those who had little else to read on the golf Forum when things were quiet about the remarkable success South Africa has had in golf, taking into consideration that only in the last few years have South Africans of all races been playing the sport.
Now sod off, and go stare at the mirror.

No worries mate, I am more of a rugby officionado anyway, thought I would give it a bash, but it is this elitist attitude that kept me away from 606 golf Forum as well.

Re: A christmas trivia
You could simply have queried the quoted numbers and/or corrected them. Personally, I thought it was quite an eye-opener to see how successful the Saffas have been.raycastleunited wrote:Except the numbers were wrong, hence the waste of time.

Two negative comments and your off. !!!
Maybe your better off on the rugby forum where I assume negative comments aren't allowed.

It is not the negative comments you dimwit, it is the attitudes.

I can only say I hope you do continue to post in the golf section and that the original post seemed more interesting than the negative comments suggested.
The likes of Ray know where they belong and hopefully he will do the honourable thing and take his maladjusted attitudes to the place of which we do not speak.

Is there any need to be so simpering, snivelling and bum licking?

Super
Bum licking, or rimming as some people call it, is actually something worth trying. It can be a real joy.
And yes in the case above I think some kind words were in order as there was no need to chase off a new poster.

Re: A christmas trivia
If anyone posts some "facts" on here that turn out to be inaccurate then they lose credibility and i reserve the right to call that out. Looking back at my post I've been dismissive of this article but not insulting.
Mac i didn't realise this was your forum and you decided who and what was acceptable. I also didn't realise how bitter you were about the split and the people on the other forum. You know sometimes the world doesn't neatly divide into dog lovers and cat lovers.

New Year's Trivia:
Where will we see more spats in 2012?
a) On the 606v2 board
b) On either Ryder Cup team (before and after the Cup)
c) Between Tim Finchem and European Players
d) In the English tabloids when the team crashes out of Euro 2012.
It's a tough one.

Re: A christmas trivia
Easy! Got to be A. Because...
B. I think with the 2 captains we have it will be pretty harmonious this time.
C. Although they may dislike Tim, the players know on which side their bread is buttered .
D. It's more like ritual humiliation when England go out.
Although soon this place will be reduced to the mac blog, featuring occasional guest posters, if we all obey mac's law.

Ray, better check your inbox, Mac is fond of PM'ing fellow 606ers to voice his disapproval of the opinions they are perfectly entitled to hold and express.

I would assume that your order will be: Liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

I find it a little disturbing that I now live less than three miles as the crow flies from Mac, where he sits in his bedsit, one hand and one eye on his computer and one eye on a Woods poster on his bedroom ceiling. I dread to think where his other hand is.
Needless to say my door locks are very secure indeed.

Super
I would happily share diner with you any time you like, I quite fancy trying the new Tom Kitichin place on castle Terrace. If you just want to share a pint that would also be ok. Although given all the flirting we do on here things might feel a little strange.
