Biarritz - relegation possibility???
Just looking at the Top 14 table and it's really extraordinary to see Biarritz marooned at the bottom and looking like a good prospect for relegation to the second division. Biarritz only averaging 11 points a game and conceding an average of 24 with a minus points difference of 160, by far the highest in the Top 14. It's like seeing Leinster or Munster at the bottom of the Rabo or the Tigers at the bottom of the Prem - unthinkable
French posters might like to give us their opinion on whether Biarritz can recover in the second half of the season and scrape their way out of the relegation zone, what would Serge B ("Le Guide as they describe him on the BO website") think about a season in division 2 - would he try and pull a dark stroke with the FFR to prevent the unthinkable, what would the big stars - Hari, Yachvili, Marconnet, Thion, Barcella, Baby think about a spell in division 2, what would the FFR think about a load of the national team languishing in division 2.
Somehow, and admittedly this only comes from seeing occasional Top 14 games this season, surely BO aren't that bad and they will find a way to claw back enough ground. Looking at the team sheet it's hard to see how a team with so many high class players can be so sh1te this season.

Re: Biarritz - relegation possibility???
Do you think this says more about the strength of the French league then anything else? It seems even the poorer teams have a few stars.
It may be unsustainable but in the meantime they seem to have merged bringing in top international talent while still having good youngsters come through. They then get exposed to top top class rugby...not Worcester.
The little i know i'd imagine Biarritz are too good to go down, even with the strength of the league. Have they had injuries?

French inconsistency is probably the main thing. It would be a shame to see a great club relegated.

I'd love to see them relegated but no doubt Serge would have the top14 ring fenced just in time for the end of the season.

They are probably too good to go down but they have been playing in a really confused manner this season. They really struggle without Yachvilli controlling everything but now that he, and others, are back from injury, they will start to move up the table. It would be unthinkable for them to be relegated and due to the financial regulations in place with regards to playing in the top14, there is a possibility that they would be saved no matter what.

It could be worrying because Lyon the club everyone thought would get relegated have already played in Biarittz and drew 15-15 so it's all up hill from this point for them.
I hope they get out of the mess their in, but not until the Ospreys have played them away and won!

On a slightly side note, watched the Biarritz v Toulon game the other day. Loved the music they played whilst waiting for the TV match official to adjudicate on a try-scoring attempt, the Pink Panther theme.

I would not read too much into that Toulon result.
I have watch Toulon twice this year and they are the worst team I have watched
Worce than Newcastle, worse than Aironi, worse than Worcester
Totally totally abject performances. Away from home they can be truly pathetic. Clearly they do play some good rugby but when they are bad they are really bad.
Perpignan are not doing too well either

No way, they're playing better now . Yachvili back and Biarritz are going up . Tonight they achieved their second victory in a row for the first time, winning outside witjout Hari in Agen, which was in the sixth top teams until now .
