Happy new year Ban_Bam. Challenging work wise. Kids are 17 and 14 so a challenge in itself! Hoping 2012 will be a good one!

Congratulations on the baby ban_bam, not sure if it's your first or your twenty first but it will surely bring you beaucoup pleasure. Mine are 23 and 22 so an opportunity, no longer a challenge!

i have taken over the junior section at our club after the last convener made a bit of a kent of it and then resigned. so ive got my work cut out with that as i have to encourage alot of members to return. but im quite excited about it to be honest.

ive also been chosen as vice captain this year wich im very pleased about.

on the golf front i aim to play away more this year.

When is mini Ban Bam due?

18 days till mini Nay is due to arrive

42 days, more or less, till Mini Diggers 2 comes along.
With a 2 year old and a new baby my main aim for 2012 is to survive , hopefully with my sanity intact.

Just don't call it Tiger please, Diggers?

Nope, we seem to be on the minority three days who don't find out, do the other guys on here know what they are having ?
You are right though, we have a short list and it's Mrs D's turn to pick as I chose for our first little girl.

I think it may well be a time of change for me on the job front, as lots of re-structuring on the horizon for the next financial year.

Hope that something good will happen on the golf front for my son this year. For me - maybe a couple more shots shaved off the handicap?

I have a mate who had twins a couple of years ago, his golf time is very limited but better this year than last....perversely he's come down from 13 to 9 from a very limited schedule so don't worry too much about the inevitable loss of golf time

thanks to the winter i've already cut practice out of my golfing diet!!

Not necessarily a bad thing Ban, I cut my practice down to about 10% of what it used to be and improved my performance on the course by about 25%.

We decided we want to find out the 'natural' way too.

One of my wife's cousins had a kid last year and found out the sex and named them at 12wks. Took some of the magic away - just seemed too darn clinical! (only my opinion of course )

i'm not sure intense practicing beforehand was really helping me much - it only really built up some tension. if i do get a bit of practice in now before a game it tends to be on the putting green, or hitting a dozen balls at most.

It's all horses for courses I guess. For me you get few enough pleasant suprises in life. This will be our second and last, and I genuinely don't mind whether it's a boy or a girl.

I'm quite sure the arrival of a child (particularly if it's the 1st) would have a positive impact on all aspects of one's life, including golf game. One's priorities and outlook on life are completely changed and perhaps those competitions will be taken less seriously, in realisation that it doesn't really matter and I'll get to go home to my beautiful family, thereby allowing one to relax more over shots and making it easier to perform.
